<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">?Paul Pierce was an interested spectator at the Las Vegas summer league and he had nothing but praise for the Celtics first-round pick Gerald Green. Pierce noted that Green reminded him of himself with some moves, and he said it should be fun to compete against him in practice. But he doesn?t want anyone to take the flattering comparison far, considering Green just finished High School. The captain also was overwhelmed by how many wing players stock the Celtics roster. Soon-to-be signed forward Brian Scalabrine was expected in Boston over the weekend to work out and get comfortable with the team and the surroundings.?</div> Source Good to see our captain has interest in some of our young players.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheTruth5:</div><div class="quote_post">Source Good to see our captain has interest in some of our young players.</div> Darn right, and let him have his fun in practice, but for God's sake, keep him away from Green from a coaching standpoint. What we don't need is two shot-happy prima donnas with no tolerance for their head coach. What we do need is a young wing man who can run and pass the ball. And at 6'8", clean the glass when the shots just won't fall. Pierce SHOULD do all those things well, but lately has done too much pulling up (shooting and running, that is) and only hits the boards when he feels like it. None of this is really a knock on Pierce, he just seems to have lost some passion, and I think a taste of winning something meaningful will bring that back. What needs to stop (and I know, I'm a big offender too) is all this trade rumor nonsense. If this were to go down, we would have heard something from Danny by now, and we would have heard other teams be a little more interested. And aside from that, we can't get seventy cents on the dollar for him right now, so let's just leave it alone. Obviously, there are members of management as well as some players who are excited about having all the pieces together next season, and just like it has been all along, Pierce is one of those. So let's talk about something else.
This isnt a bash pierce thread its just simply stating that pierce cares about his team and is happy to have a young talent playing alongside him.

And I agree with you, I think he'll be more than pleased playing alongside this kid. Chances are, he will probably learn just as much from Green as Green will from him. And I care about the team too, I was mentioning that Pierce needs to be a part of it for it to be successful. Let's read the whole post next time.

It's good to see the leader of the team be impressed with Green. In a couple of years green could be something special. Lets just hope he develops into unselfish player.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheTruth5:</div><div class="quote_post">This isnt a bash pierce thread its just simply stating that pierce cares about his team and is happy to have a young talent playing alongside him.</div>Why can't he? His Pierce comments relate directly to the topic, so I don't see why he shouldn't. His opinion is valid and I'd say it's worth discussion. I know I wouldn't want Pierce getting into Green's head with negative views of the coach.
Me and Ignignot have already put this matter behind us. Isnt your job as a moderator to promote friendly discussions instead of trying to renew fights between members? Its already done and theres no reason to bring it back.
And all of us know here that I don't hate Pierce, so it's a non-issue anyway, I think he has flaws like anyone else, and I think they are valid here, but that's a little beside the point. I also think what Thrilla is getting at is not fighting amongst ourselves but discussing what we each think about the article. He was merely defending my right to discuss what I thought of the article. That's all. He wasn't trying to renew a fight, he was just promoting conversation rather than having one person say they couldn't discuss and then moving on. Either way, who gives a care? I said what I wanted to say, so did you Truth, and so did Thrilla, so let's move on.

I have many jobs here. One of them would be to not let one person try to dictate what another person can or cannot talk about. Just because you're the one that started the thread doesn't mean you get to control the direction of the discussion. As long as nobody gets out of hand (and believe me, this thread has a G rating), then every viewpoint is welcome here. That is all.
lol, it's good to see that Pierce is impressed with Green. I think they could be a great duo along with Al Jefferson and Delonte West in the future.
