Re: Pierce's elbow is swelling/hurting again http://celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/vi...amp;format=text <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Paul Pierce?s left elbow is swelling again, but he said it is not something that will cause him to miss games. ?It still leaks,? said Pierce, who picked up his 2,500th NBA assist in the third quarter last night. ?It?s very painful, but I have a high pain tolerance.? The captain doesn?t expect the elbow to heal until the summer, but he also doesn?t anticipate having another operation like the one he had last summer. ?It looks nasty,? said Rivers, ?but it?s not something that affects his basketball.?</div> Yes, Doc, I believe it IS affecting his basketball. He's clearly... CLEARLY, not 100% out there. He's a bit overweight, and now that I know about his elbow hurting yet again, it makes sense why he's not playing all that well. Wouldn't you guys agree with me that it would be safe to sit him down for the last couple weeks of the season? Just let that rest, let it heal, then let him go full-force in the summer to get himself back in shape?
Re: Pierce's elbow is swelling/hurting again I wouldn't say that. I think its important for Paul to be out there if he isnt truely hurt and unable to play. Just sitting down and not playing because of a little pain will send the wrong message to the young players the celtics have.
Re: Pierce's elbow is swelling/hurting again Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing him sit down. He hasn't looked like himself since he came back from the foot/elbow injury and clearly the elbow is still bothering him. He looks sluggish, he's lost a step, I know some of it is because of his foot but he just doesn't look himself out there. I agree, I'd like to see him rest, workout off court, and get ready for next year.
