<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">They said it didn't matter who started, who finished, or who played more in between. Mike Dunleavy and Mickael Pietrus simply wanted what was best for the Warriors. As it turned out, that was the two of them together. The Warriors went on a 24-1 run in a riveting third quarter Monday and beat Denver 122-114. And leading the way were their small forwards, both the former starter and his replacement. </div> http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c...SPG9IH42B01.DTL
I like to see an article like this, but it will unfortunately spark all of the "trade JRich" threads.
I'd felt, and said a few times, before the season that Pietrus should start with Dunleavy a sixth man. I'm not a bit surprised it happened, and worked, though sometimes I get a bit frustrated waiting for what seems obvious. Sixth man hides Dun's weak areas while letting his many tools and his versatility be maximized. Pietrus starting lets us push the tempo from the start and establish a pressure D...... At Center, assuming no trades,I'd start Foyle, but Biedrens would get the most minutes with Murphy getting some time at the 5 and once healthy,Taft too. Not starting helps keep Biedrens from getting too many early fouls. He can watch carefully for 10 min,see how the Stripped Bastards are calling the game, whether he gets to be aggressive or needs to be more cautious. He's also a jolt of fresh energy in the heart of the first half.
