Pires " Euro Hopes Still Alive "

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Robert Pires has insisted Villarreal's hopes of European qualification are still alive after their surprise 2-0 win over Barcelona on Sunday. The French midfielder made a scoring return in his first start of the season after having fully recovered from a serious cruciate ligament injury.

"We are not dead and it is still possible that we will be playing in the UEFA Cup next season," Pires said after his opener put Villarreal in the lead at El Madrigal.

"The match was very emotional because of the way the crowd welcomed me back after my injury. For me, the fans will be very important for my morale in the next few matches.

"The key to Villarreal's success against Barcelona was the mentality of the team. Now we need to forget about this win. If Villarreal lose their next matches, this victory against the champions will mean nothing."

Despite the win, Villarreal remain nine points off Atletico in sixth place, with five games to play.</div>

I dont think they will get a Euro place for next season. 9 points and 5 games to play its possible but I cant see it happening.
