<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><span style="font-size:14pt;line-height:100%">Pistons' Acker considers playing in Greece</span>Chris McCosky / The Detroit NewsAUBURN HILLS -- Pistons guard Alex Acker has been offered a one-year deal worth $1 million to play in Greece next year. He flew to Athens on Wednesday to meet with officials from the Olympiakos team.Acker wanted to see the city and the living conditions before signing the deal, but he knows his role with the Pistons next season would be limited at best. His first clue on that was when they gave newly-signed guard Flip Murray jersey No. 6, which Acker wore as a rookie last season. The Pistons made a qualifying offer to Acker that would pay him $664,000 for the 2006-2007 season, which Acker most likely would spend mostly in the development league. The Pistons would still retain rights to Acker should he sign with Olympiakos and could bring him back for the 2007-2008 season.</div>I think this would be a good move for him assuming he likes the living conditions because we still have his rights for 2007-2008. He would make more money and probably get more playing time there to develop.

I would like to see Acker stay and play in the D-League, but if he wants to go to Europe I guess it isn't that different. They might have a different style of play there, but at least we can bring him back in two seasons.

I want to see Acker play in the rotation myself, but the Euro leagues are probably best for him.

He will replace another former NBA player, Tyus Edney, on the Olympiakos team.Acker, who saw action in five games for the Pistons last season and spent half the season with the team's developmental league affiliate, will be paid one million Euros (about $1.27 million U.S.). He would have made $664,000 with the Pistons and again spent the bulk of the season in the developmental league. The Pistons still retain rights to Acker and could bring him back for the 2007-08 season.</div>

They better bring him back for the 08 season. But, if Acker gets the minutes in Europe and the development, then he could easily be in the rotation.

Would like to see Acker in the D league next year. If an injury occurs, he could probably come in and do a DECENT job in limited minutes. Probably a Carlos Delfino of last year type of role. I also think the D League is better to develop players because the style of play is a lot more like the NBA than in Europe.

Yeah, but Acker gets a full season to develop in Greece, whereas he was only in the D League for about half of last season. Whatever gets Acker more PT to develop is what I'm all for.
