<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">AUBURN HILLS -- If one play in Wednesday's 100-99 loss to the Jazz defined what Chris Webber will mean to the Pistons, it was his pinpoint pass to a streaking Richard Hamilton for an easy layup attempt in the second quarter.

Hamilton missed the gimme, but the play is proof to why Webber, a Detroit native, was signed.

His ability to pass from the post and get teammates easy shots adds a dimension to an offense that was lacking.

"It makes the game easier especially for myself," Hamilton said after Thursday's practice. "Being able to throw it into the post and cut to the basket and things like that. C-Webb being out there makes things a lot simpler."

In fact, Webber had three assists in 17 minutes Wednesday. Nazr Muhammad, who did not play against Utah, has eight assists in 363 minutes this season.

"He is going to be able to help out," Saunders said of Webber. "Passing-wise, he had a good flow of things and there is no question that people have to guard him. He is not going to be a guy who gets 20 points -- it's a matter of trying to make the other guys play at a comfort level and get into a rhythm."</div>
