<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced today that the club has signed forward Ronald Dupree to a multi-year contract. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Dupree, a training camp invitee by the Pistons last year, spent the 2003-04 season playing with the Huntsville Flight in the National Basketball Development League and the Chicago Bulls. After playing half the season in Huntsville, Dupree signed the first of two 10-day contracts with Chicago on January 7, 2004. He was signed by the Bulls for the remainder of the season on January 28, 2004. Appearing in 47 of Chicago?s final 48 games, he averaged 6.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 19.0 minutes per game. In eight games as a starter, Dupree averaged 7.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.13 steals and 24.0 minutes per game. He led the Bulls in scoring once - a season-high 18-point performance at Miami (1/7) and scored 10-plus points on 11 occasions. </div> Press Release I guess this means Ham won't be returning.
Me too, I loved watching Dupree when he was in the NBDL and on the Bulls.. He is a good all around player and if givin the oppurtunity he could be a 15ppg 5-8rpg guy with decent minutes.
Dupree basically cements Hams departure, and almost guarantees our draft pick [Ricky Paulding] lands on the IR. I still like the signing. They are all basically the same player, and RonD is the better version of the 3.
Dupree's addition will add depth at the 3 spot and give a good defender and energy guy to come off the bench. I'm not sure wether he will get many minutes as I feel the main rotation off the bench will be Hunter, delfino, Pauling and Williamson. Dumars still has to make a decision on that last spot, James or Hunter. And because Hunter will cost less he will be the likely signing.
Paulding won't be in the rotation. Hes a 12th man at best. As for James or Hunter. There is no discussion. James can command more than we can give him, plus he is capable of being a starter on some teams, which is what hes looking for. Hunter will more than likely return for the VetsMin. Rotation: C:Ben/Darko?/Elden PF:Sheed/McDyess SF:Tayshaun/Corliss SG:Rip/Delfino PF:Chauncey/Hunter thats 10 players who will be in the rotation, none of whom are named Paulding or Dupree
another solid pickup, i don't know why chicago didn't hold onto him. i guess its just a sign of paxson's incompetence.
