Stan Van Gundy and the Detroit Pistons made their big move two days before today's trade deadline when they got Tobias Harris from the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.

The Pistons probably are done with major dealing, except perhaps for a reserve point guard, but when asked if that is the case, the Pistons' president of basketball operations and head coach could not commit.

"I would say yes, but I would've said yes, that we weren't doing anything big three days ago," Van Gundy said Wednesday. "Certainly, when we broke (for the All-Star break), I didn't see any of this coming. So you just don't know. It's just hard to tell what other teams are going to end up being willing to do."

The Pistons acquired Harris for Ersan Ilysaova and Brandon Jennings.

Harris is expected in uniform, but not the starting lineup when the Pistons (27-27) return to action Friday at Washington.

If the Pistons make another major deal, it probably involves dipping into their honey pot of young talent -- guards Reggie Jackson and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope; forwards Harris, Stanley Johnson and Marcus Morris; and center Andre Drummond.

"It would take something pretty startling to get us off any of those guys," Van Gundy said.

Beyond the cost, if the Pistons were to make another major trade before today's 3 p.m. deadline, the parameter under which they would deal have not changed.

They still would not give away assets, including draft picks, or accept short-term rental players to improve their position this year, at the expense of the long-term future.

That has been the outline since owner Tom Gores hired Van Gundy in May 2014, and the Pistons have not wavered in exhausting their avenues for affecting change, primarily through shrewd trading.
