"Right now, Tracy McGrady is focused on being ready to rock Oct. 27 when the Pistons open the regular season at New Jersey. That's why the plan is for him to skip the last four exhibition games and make sure his body is as fit as possible. McGrady told the Free Press after tonight's 101-96 loss to the Mavericks that it's doubtful he would play the rest of the preseason. He said he feels fine and feels that he can play, but he will follow the directions of strength and condition coach Arnie Kander. "I'm starting to get antsy," he said in the locker room of Van Andel Arena. After hardly playing for two seasons, it's going to take time for the one-time superstar to get back into playing shape. McGrady, 31, was one of the best players in the game before missing most of the 2008-09 season with a balky left knee.
