WALTHAM - The Celtics waived undrafted free agents Kevin Pittsnogle and Akin Akingbala following today's practice at the Sports Authority Training Center at HealthPoint in Waltham. Pittsnogle appeared in three exhibition games for the Celtics, playing 11 minutes and scoring three points combined in his three outings. Akingbala appeared twice, once against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the opening preseason contest, where he scored three points in five minutes of action. He also played the final 17 seconds against the New York Knicks on Tuesday. Is anyone surprized or dissapointed? Personally, I don't think either of these guys made any sort of an impact on the team in the preseason.
They should have at least given Akingbala some more minutes to see what he could do in games. 5 minutes and 17 seconds in 2 games, isn't good.

Pittsnogle never stood a chance, and Akingbala isn't worth the paper they won't print his contract on. All told, this shouldn't have taken this long.

He's not NBA caliber and I strongly doubt any team is going to write him a contract offering him money in return for bad basketball.
