I was browsing the RealGM Celtics page as usual and I came across this bit of info:

    http://realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=5...der=asc&start=0

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>BlueGoldNews.com, like the best source for WVU news, says that Pittsnogle signed to the Celtics</div>
Then, the same guy posted this about a half an hour later:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Latest word, and you need to have the Premium Membership to Scout:

West Virginia alumnus Kevin Pittsnogle has agreed to a two-year contract with the Boston Celtics. Some, but not all, of the contract will be guaranteed.</div>
I would love if this is true, and I must say I agree with some of the posters over at RealGM:

    - This could mean a trade is comming
    - This could mean Jones is cut

Also, now that I really think about it, he's a minor downgrade of Raef LaFrentz (give or take $10M haha). I like Pittnogle and I think his shooting can be beneficial to this team, even if he doesn't play much. He should have been drafted along with guys like Allan Ray and Mike Gansey, etc.

    Your thoughts?

I liked Pittsnogle. I would rather see him come to phoenix but this is a nice pickup for Boston. I can`t wait to see them next year. They have been busy this offseason.

Yeah, stay tuned as well. Danny Ainge said on tv (I saw it) that "we aren't done" with roster changes. More trades are on the way, I can guarentee you that. And quite frankly, I'm anxious to know about them!

great signing. i said something about how they should sign him like on draft night. He's going to be a decent player. And if this isn't more evidence of a bigger deal in the works, i don't know what is. I think we have 16 players now.

I feel alot more comfortable with Pitsnogle being our backup when theo's out tho. He could make an impact.

lol, calm down. It's Kevin Pittnogle. He will be a D-Leaguer, or at the very end of the bench, if we even do keep him. Sure, this could mean he has a trade in line, but it could also just mean he's replacing Jones. For all we know, this could also be a Will Bynum/Curtis Borchardt scenerio (invite him to training camp, then waive him after preseason). I hope it has something to do with another deal, but I wouldn't be suprised if it's nothing.

I would definitely be surprised if it was nothing. Danny said he wasn't done. I think it'd be pretty frustrating if we started the season with this horrible logjam everywhere.

It's an alright signing. Pittsnogle doesnt have alot of talent or anything, but he can shoot for a big man, which is atleast useful.

I only think this is huge if it leads to a big trade

Not a bad signing, I was wondering who was the team had guaranteed him a contract when he was playing in our summer league. He wasn't bad nor good, but like Donnie Nelson said, there's always a spot in this league for a big man who can shoot. [IMG] One of my favorite slogans from the NCAA.

I would be willing to bet my house that Ainge will not have this roster come the start of the season. Changes will be made, it's just that calling a signing of Kevin Pittsnogle being called "huge" is way out of context.

This is good for the celtics. But i really dont know why this means trade trade trade to all of you celtic fans. He is a good basketball player so maybe they just wanted to sign him for that. He is very underrated. Big men that can shoot the three is underrated in the NBA. It stretches out the defense and makes other teams adjust. If he stays with Boston, this could definatley help them out.

Wow, they managed to nab to very nice undrafted rooks. He is a servicable backup. I wonder if this could be setting up a move involving Theo?

If there are no more moves made before the start of the season this means it is gonna be a competion in training camp between Jones and Pittsnogle for the last roster spot.
