In the midst of the butt-kicking, the Celtics got a chance to get their initial look at P.J. Brown. In just over six minutes of action, the 38-year-old veteran big man grabbed six rebounds, scored three points, and picked the pocket of Joakim Noah on the left block. He did fumble a couple of passes, but for a 38-year-old that hasn't played in an NBA game since last May, he looked pretty good out there. He may need a couple of weeks to get reintroduced to the daily grind of the NBA, but he showed more than enough promise in limited minutes against his former team tonight. I say by the end of the Texas swing, Brown should be in pretty good shape on the floor. EDIT: If you're wondering and didn't see the game/hear about it, Cassell will make his Celtics debut on Monday night in Philly.
Perkins was a bit of a let down though.. I mean he ONLY got 11 rebounds this game nice boxscore, only Rondo played over 30 mins. Gotta give Doc credit, he's not overplaying the big 3 during the regular season.
He was great, just what we needed. Better than Pollard of course. And I agree Celtic Fan, I loved how our big 3 got to rest most of the game. Can't wait to see Cassell out there, controlling the game with the second team.
