What? where is the distraction? Brown is not a key to our offence/defence. In reality he's been a disapointment IMO. Who wouldnt trade camby for brown?

He is averaging 10.5 points and 11.1 rebounds. "This is another example of making a mountain out of a molehill," Paxson said. "If every call about players around the league was written about as a legitimate story you (reporters) would never get any sleep."</div> Read more...
the rumor may be untrue but Brown still said he wants out. sounds like he didn't like having his name even mentioned in a trade and to jump to a statement like that means he's unhappy
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">General manager John Paxson has scheduled a meeting Monday morning with P.J. Brown and agent Mark Bartelstein to discuss more fully Brown's unhappiness after the veteran forward told the Tribune he hoped his short Bulls tenure would end soon. Paxson spoke at length Saturday with Brown and Bartelstein. In a statement, Paxson said: "It would have been my preference that P.J. had addressed this privately, but I understand not every player is happy in his role. First Ben Wallace, 32, wore a headband in violation of team rules last month. Now P.J. Brown, 37, has let the Bulls know he?s not happy with his role. There were some far-fetched trade rumors involving Brown this week, but his bad mood is primarily about playing time. There is a difference of opinion, however, on whether Brown has asked to be traded. His Chicago-based agent, Mark Bartelstein, says he hasn?t requested a move, while Bulls general manager John Paxson believes he has. ?This is not a situation where you have a guy that?s campaigning to get traded or trying to cause a distraction,? Bartelstein said. ?He would never do that. He?s a tremendously loyal guy. He?s a great teammate.?</div> Read more...
Wonder if it's actually true.. but, I have no idea what the Bulls could trade him for, some teams may want an expiring, but I think the Bulls want the expiring to get rid of some money during the offseason. And I don't think there will be a expiring for expiring.. if he actually wants a trade.
I doubt the Bulls will trade Brown away. Although, Brown may be unhappy with his limited role he is not the type of player who will become a team cancer simple because of that. PJ Brown is the constant professional he realizes the NBA is a business and will do what is asked of him. The Bulls want that cap relief that his expiring contract will provide. I expect Paxson to simple tell him that same statement directly when they have a meeting. The quote Paxson had was very telling... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"It would have been my preference that P.J. had addressed this privately, but I understand not every player is happy in his role. Brown responded by saying he wouldn't mind leaving the Bulls. But now he wishes he would have stayed quiet. The Chicago Tribune Web site reported that Brown apologized to his teammates and the organization on Monday. "You'd like to be [happy]," Brown told the Tribune. "But it goes back to the old saying you don't have any control. Everybody is going to have to wait and see. I want to focus on P.J. Brown and my teammates and helping my team win. We're playing well right now. I want to keep winning and keep us going in the right direction. "My comments were a little bit inappropriate for the timing. I was a little bit frustrated, a little bit emotional after reading what everybody else read. I definitely apologized to my teammates and the Bulls organization. It just wasn't the right time for that. We're moving on." Brown was sidelined Saturday for the third straight game with a strained plantar fascia in his right foot, but before that he saw his minutes plummet to 16.5 a game -- nearly half his 31.9 minute per game career average. </div> Read more...
