That sucks. Well, he'll find an assistant job somewhere. PJ really is a very good assistant coach.

Avery Johnson would be a great fit for OKC.

Really need to give your coach longer time than that. Plus it is not like his roster was full of world beaters either.

That sucks for PJ. But they need a young coach who can relate to the young guys on the team. And Scott Brooks is not the answer.
Oh well, too bad we don't play them til February.

He was a bad hire. It might not be "fair" to fire him so soon, and after giving him such a bad hand to work with, but I would not be shocked at all if he just wasn't the kind of coach that was best for the young team they've got.

On another coaching front: Reggie Theus might get fired? WTF is that?

I thought this thread was about PJ Brown. I agree that Avery Johnson would be a good fit.

I didn't even realize Carlesimo had been hired in the first place. Apparently, once you've been a head coach once, you're in the Continuous Retread club. I can't think of many coaches worse than Carlesimo.

Really? Hmm. Now that I think about it, I didn't pay attention to Seattle at all last year.

The roster is awful. Durant looks like a 6'10" Jamal Crawford. Jeff Green isn't ready. Westbrook has his moments.

    Robert Swift...........Robert Swift.

I took Durant WAY too early in fantasy basketball this year, so maybe I'm being overly negative, but I just don't see improvement over last year, and he appears to be a long jumpshooter. And that's it. He doesn't rebound, he doesn't defend, he doesn't put the ball on the floor. He shoots long two pointers.

He's still young, of course, and he's not surrounded by a lot of other offensive options to take pressure off of him, but for all the flak that Oden has taken I wonder when people are going to start to notice that Durant just might not end up being all that good.

Kevin Durant has been massively disappointing. He's still so young and gifted that it's far too early to call him a bust...but I'm very, very glad Pritchard chose Oden over Durant.

Ya, that's ridiculous Theus is on the hotseat. Shit, even with Kevin Martin and Garcia playing, their team still sucks...

PJ is not a bad coach, he's a bad communicator.

    He works better with adults.

I mention this is another thread . . . but this is the team we should be trading with. They need multiple quality players to put around Durant and Wilcox is becoming a headache for them.

Maybe they give up one quality player and a headache for mulitple players. Westbrook???

I'm sure that Larry Brown is chomping at the bit for the OKC job. *joke*

I disagree. PJ Carlesimo was one of the worst NBA level coaches ever. It was solidified in my mind when he started Dudley over Sabonis. Some folks will rationalize it in their brains that somehow the decision was right at the time, but I never will. That decision was just flat out fucking stupid.

You mean like that "young guy" Phil Jackson who is coaching the best team in the league?

Oklahoma City doesn't need a young coach, they need better players.
