Paterno certainly isn't a villain, but unfortunately, even he himself said he should have done more at the time. It really sucks, on many levels, that his career and life had to end this way. I hope we can all learn something about doing everything we can to protect the innocent from this modern tragedy.
I feel sorry for Paterno. I spoke with a head coach at a small college and he tells me what head coaches have to do at major universities and it's overwhelming.
