That's right, you too can go to Antarctica, the coldest place on Earth. Whether it be a cruise or taking a plane from one of the neighboring countries that allows you to visit the continent during the prefered summer period, there is plenty to do. Naturally there's skiing, snowboarding and the like plus there is plenty to see there. Most notably, animals that have absolutely no fear of human beings. I seen a long biography on the continent here in France which shown many people going there and all enjoying it. Even some guy from Jamaica. My guess is that it is incredibly expensive, but if you're into the natural wonders and all that what else could possibly garnish attention from others when you tell them that you've been to Antarctica? Perhaps wonderous New Zealand .. Anyway, click here to purchase a travel guide, yeah seriously, a travel guide to Antarctica from the Lonely Planet countries series. Also found on Amazon, which allows you to take a peak inside. I've always loved Lonely Planet books and their website because you have so much to look at and plenty to learn already at your fingertips if you haven't been somewhere you're interested in. You can of course learn about other countries that before you had no idea they could offer so much to you. Take a peak if you're planning your next vacation. Who knows, you may end up forgetting about traveling to Europe for a week and instead go somewhere unheard of that will allow you to take in new things others shamefully may never know of in their lifetime. Just a thought, remember that impossible is nothing.
I've never been skiing or snowboarding. I'd want to go to Antartica, when I'm MUCH older. Talk about something unique and different.
lol, living in Canada, seeing more snow just isn't my idea of a vacation. I'd rather go somewhere warm.
Wow. I didn't think anyone went to Antartica except for scientific research. Seeing how big of a traveler you are, why don't you go and take some pics to show us?
Yeah I'm planning it already, but not to get there for a few years anyway because I need the cash and that guide book to know exactly what's best to get there. I'll pick it up when I get back to the States and then inform you of how it is and what it provides. However, I'm certain it should have plenty enough being that it is published by Lonely Planet.
Meh, I cant see the appeal of the place, looks like its all just ice and snow, the only real reason I would want to go would to just be able to tell people "I went to Antartica"

Well I'd much rather go to Canada or one of those kind of places, where you have what Antartica has to offer (snow and ice, lol) but you also have a whole different society and what not to explore aswell.
I don't like the idea of tourists on Antartica. It will lead to environmental pollution and sooner or later, the demise of that continent (someone claiming a bit land for themselves, oil drilling etc).
I doubt any of you know anything of the place because there's more to it then ice and snow. The Canada comparison doesn't even make sense for the most part. <div class="quote_poster">Bahir Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I don't like the idea of tourists on Antartica. There is a treaty signed in 1998 that won't allow people to exploit the continent for any resources the next fifty years and even then it will most likely be re-signed and put into another fifty years just as before.
I don't see it as no one is even allowed to go anywhere on land without supervision. There is a difference between knowledge and belief and until you've actually seen how these are done then there is no point to what you just wrote now is there? Watch or read first, my friend.
