I've noticed that we always raise our level of play against the stronger teams(SA and Seattle, our last 2 wins) and we always seem to lower our level of play against the weaker teams (Bucks, Bulls, Raptors, our last 3 losses). Why is this? Is it just bad preparation? Or do we think that the easier teams is an automatic win? Why can't we play with the same intensity against all teams and not just the good teams?
I think it was just a slump they where in losing to all those bad teams in a row, but you do have a point there two home loses before the slump where both to less that great teams like the Celtics and one other average team. I think its that they bring a higher level of intensity to the court when they go against good teams then they would against teams that are average they go out there with a point to pove against good teams, and against medoicre teams they think they have it won before the ball even gets into play, and once they figure out thats not the case basically around late second quarter, early third quarter they make a small run, but not enough to get a solid lead most of the time or not enough to take the lead because all there energy was waisted on the come back. I have also noticed that in our loses to bad teams Francis and Co. have a tendency to make stupid fouls, and be on the bench for the better part of the game this is especially true in Francis' case he averages like five fouls a game or has been averaging around that this season, and most of those fouls are out of frustration. It is horrible to watch these fouls at times, because they make a mistake they think that hacking the guy on the other end of the court will make it better. Also a problem for us is we have not gotten a consistant performance in shooting wise from the field. Last night against the Sonics they shot lights out, but normally when we lose Francis, Mobley, or Hill have a bad shooting night. Another thing I have noticed we do to much is play the wrong guys in wrong situations. We may be down by like five points, and instead of putting big men that will give you a little bit of instant offense in there like a guy like Kausun they put in Garriety or someone like that, and they start shooting three pointers. Its all about coaching if the coach does not make the right choices in close games they will lose, and Davis has started to show he is not the coach for this team I think the team this season needs to deside what direction or type of team they want to be a good defending team like they where earlier in the year, or a good scoring team like they have been lately then they need to hire a coach that will get them to that point.
