Well, I couldn't imagine anyone else besides Kobe Bryant. He's won 3 rings with the Lakers, his 81 point performance, I remember his 35/40 point games streak in the 02-03ish season, his 35 point per game last year. My vote would go to him.
of this decade? I'd have to go with Kobe, Shaq ('00-'04) and Tim Duncan. Dwyane Wade and Lebron will probably be in this convo by the end of the decade.
i'd go with shaq. 4 rings. 3 finals mvp and a season mvp. most dominant player of this era. those facts alone are a pretty strong resume in my opinion.
Up to this point in time, Shaq or Tim Duncan. When the decade is done, maybe other players will be closer. Honourary mention: Kobe, Nash
Tim Duncan by a long shot. He has been the most dominant and successful player of this decade. 2 Regular Season MVPs 2 NBA Championships 2 NBA Finals MVPs 8 Time NBA All Star Starter 2000 All Star MVP 6 Time All NBA First Team 5 Time All-Defensive First Team

Best player of the decade? Kobe, easily. But the most dominant? Either Shaq or Duncan. MVPs + rings = winning this debate.
When it's all said and done, Dwight Howard's name will be tossed into this mix. He may not be the best player but he will definitely be discussed.
Yeah, really, it's between Duncan and Shaq. Shaq has four rings this decade. Even though this year and last year he hasn't been great you can dispute how dominant he was the previous years. Even his first year in Miami, he wasn't as dominant as in LA, but he was second in MVP voting. Duncan has two rings this decade, and his been the cornerstone of the Spurs consistent sucess throughout the regular and post season. You can make a strong arguement for both. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> When it's all said and done, Dwight Howard's name will be tossed into this mix. </div> Answer the q.
<div class="quote_poster">P.A.P. Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Answer the q.</div> I have to go with Shaquille O'Neal. He has been dominant this entire decade and has the championship rings to prove it. When Shaq was on the Lakers, there wasn't a single player in the league that could stop him one on one. He was always double teamed and he still found a way to own the paint. His power and frame have helped him become the force he was throughout this decade. Teams always plan to stop Shaq yet few ever do. When a team has to resort to a Hack-a-Shaq defense because it's the only way to stop you, that shows how dominant you are.

<div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">No way will Dwight be in the discussion for best player of the decade from 2000-2010.</div> Yeah, now that you mention it, he'll probably be in the discussion with players such as LeBron and Wade in the decade from 2010-2020. Wouldn't it be appropriate for Mr. 20/20 to be looked back on as the best player of the decade in the year 2020?
For me it's between Shaq and Tim Duncan. But I suppose I have to go with Shaq because he is just so dominant.
i gotta go with duncan, duncan didnt ahve a kobe or a wade on his team, sure he had an old robinson and then a ginobli and a parker but no kobe
got to go with duncan, but i really wanna know what would happen if AI had some great players around him (Beside Mutombo)
