    THE SEASON
In his seventh season in NY (tenth NBA campaign), Knicks tri-captain anchored the squad?s frontline with perhaps his finest season as a professional. . .Over 80 games (all starts), Kurt averaged 11.5 ppg, career-high and team-leading 10.4 rpg (seventh in NBA), 2.0 apg and shot .471 from the floor (424-901 FGA) over 35.7 mpg. . .Went 66-84 FTA (.786) from the line, 2-4 from Downtown (now has seven career 3 PT FGM).
Established career highs in total rebounds (831), rebounding average (10.4, his first career 10+ rebound season), total minutes (2,855) and minutes per game (35.7). . .Recorded his fifth consecutive 10+ scoring season (has averaged 12.2 ppg in last five seasons). . .Led Knicks in rebounding for fourth straight year.

It?s nice to see good ol? Kurt getting some recognition. The season recap of Kurt Thomas should be great. He?s been our most consistent Knick and if it weren?t for him, I guarantee we would have a much worse record than 33-49.

Kurt Thomas was 6th in the league in rebounds per game, 3rd in total defensive rebounds and managed to average his first career double-double. He also was given the position as one of the tri-captains and on the court he?s been a perfect one and a good mentor for Mike Sweetney.

Did you also know that Kurt Thomas and Marbury are the 3rd most effective scoring punch in the entire league? Steve Nash with Amare and Marion is above them, but I think that?s quite an accomplishment for him and Marbury. He?s also the MVP of the Knicks according to a majority of the posters on JustBBall. What a season it?s been for Kurt!

Kurt is aging and his contract is getting fatter by the second so by now it?s probably a good time to get rid of him while his stock is probably at it?s peak. He?s sparked conversations with the Cavaliers about Drew Gooden so who knows what other deals he might start.
