When he's aggressive and attacking, he's moving so quick and so fast and he has so much control over his body, he can stop on a dime. And he goes through spaces you don't think he can get through. He knows how to finish around the basket." ? Herb Williams
?Nothing's really changed. It's just more minutes, more confidence. I just kept working, kept working. I knew I was putting in the work, so I said, 'Hopefully, my time will come.'" -- Michael Sweetney

Michael Sweetney?don?t we all love him? The 6?8, 270 pound Mike Sweetney has been continually impressing us game after game. Originally thought to be a wasted pick in the beginning of the 2003-2004 season, Sweetney has since then shutdown all of those doubts and his great work ethic along with the help of Mark Aguirre allows me to say comfortably that Sweetney will be a very good player in the NBA.

Sweetney has been developing nicely and when he has been given consistent minutes, he has always produced. Sweetney is an excellent rebounder and inside scorer especially considering his size. He is developing nicely in the low post and now that he?s shown signs of a developing a jumper, I?m very optimistic about him next season especially considering how hard he works.

The only thing that really worries me about Sweetney is how prone he is to fouls. It seems as if you can always expect him to pick up to quick fouls in the first few minutes of the game and pick up some cheap ones the next time he gets into the game. It reminded me a lot of Nazr Mohammed when he was with the Knicks and he used to be a serious hack. Once Sweetney gets this very coachable problem under control, I see his numbers and minutes being more consistent.

I?m very high on Sweetney and see a great future for him. Although he probably won?t be a superstar in the NBA, I am very sure he will be a solid contributor whose presence can greatly effect the outcome of a game. Hopefully Isiah finds a way to free up some space this summer and get some of these power forwards out of here so Sweetney can flourish and reach his full potential.
