I was reading a post on another forum about how some NBA players have fake heights put down for their info, like Charles Barkley being 6'6" or 6'8" when people say he was like 6'4". Do you guys think this is true for a lot of NBA players?
I know there is a mystery surronding the players heights. From what I heard, the NBA adds an extra inch to the players actual height. I don't if its true or not. But its something that I've heard a long time ago, and I would'nt be surprised if it's actually true.
Well KG may be 7'1" but i also heard that KG wanted to be listed at 6'11" because he didn't like being a seven footer, because it sounded like he had to be a center or somethign like that. Something about the way 'seven footer' sounds wasn't what he liked. So he told everybody he was 6'11"

I think a couple of the TV commentators were talking about in the first round against Denver.
How about TMac claiming that he's only 6'8? But during a photo shoot with KG and some other big guys (I forgot the others), KG said something about TMac definitely not 6'8. He's way taller than that since KG gave up only a few inches when they were side to side.
^ some ppl may seem taller or shorter bcuz they slouch. for example, i slouch a lot of ppl think im around 5'8ish but im really 6'0 when i stand up staight.

But would'nt that be considered hunchback? That a 4 inch differential, which is alot. That's hunchback if you ask me. I would say slouching would be about 1-2 inches off of your actual height. I believe that most might sloutch and not even know it. It might not feel like it at least. But back on topic... Who knows what the NBA is doing with their heights. They probably give the players the privilege to pick their own height that best suites them, as long as its nothing exaggerating like being a 6-foot player to a 6'5 player.
It's a publicity/marketing thing, no one wants to watch a bunch of 6'1" guys run around, because it sounds so much better if they're 6'4". Why? It seems out of reach, and super-human to some. Granted, they are huge, but maybe not THAT huge. It mysifies me, that there are people, well over a foot taller than me, and I'm 6'1". It's all a publicity thing, when KG (6'11" Claimed) dunks over Yao (7'5" Claimed) it appears that Garnett did some amazing feat, because of the first number, the footage. Now if I were to say 7'1" Garnett dunked over 7'3" Yao, you wouldn't be so amazed, now would you...?

You can run a little test, look up TJ Ford on Google and diffrent sites have him listed as diffrent heights, some higher and some lower.
T-Mac 6-10? Then VC must be 6-8 cause he really isn't that much taller then VC and Mike Miller must be 6-11 cause he's taller then T-Mac when he's listed at 6-8 himself. You know what it is? It's the fact that KG might actually be 6-11. I saw him stand next to Shaq during the allstar game and Shaq was about 2 inches shorter and they both were standing up straight. Unless Shaq is 7-3, which would make Yao like 7-8. Because how many times have they shown Shaq and Yao stand next to eachother. I just think T-Mac and KG are their actual listed heights. Which is a rear thing.
I heard Tracy is around 6'9", and Kobe is around 6'8". I have also heard that KG is 7', but doesn't want to be listed as that. They may be the real height. It doesn't really matter to me.
KG is 7'0, Tmac is 6'8 1/2, and Kobe is 6'6 1/2, their were some under or over exaggeratted heights, but that doesn't happen anymore. Jason Richardson is not 6'2 lol, he's about 6'5-6'6.
