There have been quite a few this year; we're only 10 days into the playoffs. GS - Steph Curry MCL sprain 2 weeks+ SAS - LaMarcus hurt pinkie LAC - CP3 broken hand LAC - Blake Griffin torn quad LAC - JJ Reddick injured heal DAL - Chandler Parsons knee surgery DAL - Deron Williams groin injury MEM - Marc Gasol broken foot MEM - Mike Conley Achilles tendinitis HOU - broken team The East has had a few, there might be some others; MIA - Chris Bosh blood clots BOS - Avery Bradley pulled hamstring CHA - Nic Batum injured knee Of course we've had Meyers injured; although many don't believe that's hurt us. Last year the Cavs had Love and Kyrie injured, OKC didn't have Durant, Atlanta lost Carroll and Korver. Wall was injured for Washington. Dwight got injured against the Warriors. Beverly and DMo also hurt for the Rockets. Wes goes down before the playoffs. LaMarcus had a hurt finger. Conley fractured his face playing us. It seems as though the NBA playoffs are becoming a war of attrition NFL style.
How dare you jinx us... I'll try to counteract this by wearing no underwear for the 3rd straight game on Wednesday...
Sending a PSA about how much injuries suck to Blazer fans is like telling a Salmon to swim up stream. Thankfully El P cleansed the Rose Garden for us this season. He's the real MVP.
It's nice to see a lot of these injuries not carrying long term implications. At some point injuries in whatever form are part of the business. While it might hurt for playoff match-ups, ultimately the long term health is most important. You see teams combining modern technology and preventative medicine. Hopefully we can continue to reduce the risk of serious injuries with advances in technology and our understanding of the human body.
It's interesting to me how warriors fans are lamenting the loss of curry but they got to face the grizz without Conley last year and the cavs without Irving or love.
Yesterday before the game, I thought it was weird that Doc Rivers would comment on the Curry injury. http://www.latimes.com/sports/clippers/la-sp-clippers-report-20160426-story.html He should be focusing on the series at hand. I'm guessing he was probably asked about it and responded. Just goes to show you though, you should never look ahead.
Colin Cowherd is talking about this right now. He says there is so much specialization in sports now - kids only playing one sport - that they get repetitive motion injuries. He also says players are now into cardio more than muscle and so that they aren't as strong as they used to be.
Colin Cowherd is discussing this very topic right now. He says--based on Tim Grover's theories--that all these injuries are because of athletic specialization. That kids who are elite athletes start playing only one sport non-stop from age 10, so their bodies break down from repetitive motion injuries
Not really an original thought, but: when Chris Paul gets injured he kicks stuff. When he flops he acts like he is dead.
