With the season almost over, and playoff seeds from 5-8 easily in reach, where do you think we will end up. The schedule is quite hard, with games against denver, memphis, clippers, and seattle twice. The other teams have somewhat equal schedules. I think we will hold on to this seed. If we beat denver, memphis, the clippers and seattle once, it should be easy.
I think we're going to stay with the sixth seed. I see wins against Los Angeles, Memphis, probably Seattle once, and possibly Denver. However, Denver is a really hot team right now while Memphis is fighting for their playoff spot so they might come out against us aggressive with everything on the line. In my opinion, as long as we beat Denver, Clippers, and Memphis, the team should stay at the sixth seed, which is probably for the best since its against Seattle.
Denver looks like they could close out the season with all wins right now, and that wouldn't be good. We're actually just a half game ahead of them, and if they close out the season undefeated, it would mean beating us too. That game against the Nuggets could decide our playoff position. The winner would most likely take sixth in the West and the loser would have to settle for seventh. Hopefully, Denver can drop a game or two to give us breathing space in case we lose to Seattle or Memphis once or twice.
i really dont know what spot we will turn out its really uncertian, im pretty sure we would win against the clippers and denver, but against memphis weve had trouble with almost all year they just know how to play us, seattle we might be able to beat too if we have a good shooting night and yao stays out of foul trouble.
I beg to disagree on the sure win against Denver..They're really hot right now and George Karl is really starting to mold this team into an elite one.
you ever know, hot teams gott fall sometime.. and i think that we could beat them seeing as we came off a win against phoenix in which we came back big.

I don't consider last night's game a true morale-booster. Sure, we beat the top team in the West, but we were that close to losing the game. And you can't really say that we would carry this win's momentum into the game against Denver, as we still play Seattle and Memphis before Denver. There's a chance we'll drop both games and face Denver in a must-win situation to get sixth in the West.
I guarantee one thing too: I'll be at that Denver game It's like a playoff game in itself, considering that getting the 6th seed rather than the 7th seed pretty much decides whether they get out of the first round, regardless of how well they play (they could bring their A game and still lose to the Spurs). I'd really rather have a comfortable lead on Denver in the standings when that game rolls around, but if not then it's going to be one hell of a game.
the denver-houston game will be the matchup that decide who will take the 6th spot. we may be slip once or twice against seattle or memphis, but denver also has 1 game against phoenix and as far as i know they hadn't won against suns this season and if they lose we will have a breathing space
Hey guys you still have to consider that Seattle is not yet lock for their division title and the number 3 spot. Seattle has to win one more game to clinch that spot. With the way they are losing and the way the Nuggets are winning the 3rd spot is still in limbo. If the Nugggets win all of their remaining game and the Sonics lose theirs it would change the playoff picture. I just hope it won't happen. The Rockets must do their best not to give up the 6th spot. Anyway whoever the Nuggets play in the playoffs they got a good chance on them. Matching up with the Sonics is just so hard to resist.
Denver Game Very Important Houston only plays Denver 3 times this season. Both Houston and Denver have won 1 game against eachother. So this upcoming Denver game is very important. Whoever wins this game will only need to tie inorder to get the 6th seed. I was looking over the Rockets and Nuggets schedules... DAY------------HOUSTON--------------DENVER MON 11------------ Seattle ------------- Golden State TUES 12 WED 13------------ Memphis ------------ New Orleans THURS 14 FRI 15----------------------------------- Memphis SAT 16------------ Denver -------------- Houston SUN 17 MON 18------------ LA Clippers ---------- Phoenix TUES 19 WED 20------------ Seattle ------------- Portland ...and came up with this in order for Houston to keep the 6th seed. HOUSTON Win Over Denver -Finish with only one less win than Denver ex: Rockets Win 4 of the upcoming games and Denver wins 5 of the upcoming games. But since the Rockets won the Denver game it would end up in a tie for the 6th spot and Houston wins it with the tiebreaker. Loss Against Denver -Finish with same amount of wins as Denver ex: Rockets and Denver only win 4 of the upcoming games. Denver wins the Houston game but the Rockets still stay 1 game ahead winning the 6th seed.
[/list] It was complicated thinking all this up but im pretty sure its right. So look for 1 of these to happen if the Rockets can win that 6th seed.
Best case scenario for us would be Denver losing tonight to Golden State and on the 18th against Phoenix. If the Rockets manage to beat the Sonics tonight and win every game except for a loss against Denver, we would still finish in sixth. We could only cross our fingers and hope that Denver would tank their way out of contention for sixth in the West, but that could be next to impossible the way the Nuggets are playing since the All-Star break.
considering the way that golden state has been playing as of late it might be very possible that the warriors might take this. but denver has been on a tear as of late too so it could roll either way all we need to do is our best and hopefllly come away with the 6th seed.
Everyone thinks that the nugets are the best team right now, espn even has them as nummber one. I think they are somewhat overated until they actually beat a fully loaded good team. The rockets ae gonna own them and then everyone will realize who is the best. Rockets all the way
Well I mean they have beaten San Antonio twice, Sacramento, Minnesota, and Seattle during this month and last month just to name a few. Plus the way they're playing is virtually flawless- running the fastbreak, going inside, getting the rebounds, everything. What scares me the most with the Denver and Houston matchup is that many of their players are much younger and more athletic than ours so it should definitely cause us some trouble. I wish the best of luck to Houston in getting the sixth seed since it is going to be tough.
We'll definitely have trouble against Kenyon Martin. Weatherspoon has no chance guarding him and Bowen would be no match either. His combination of brute strength and quickness is very rare in today's league.
Yeah, I too am worried about K-Mart..He's such a sick dunker and he also gets many of his points from his crazy put back dunks. I'm worried about Spoon containing him. Denver is becoming a hell of a fast break team so we better be ready to rotate back on D as soon as they get the rebound.
maybe if sacto looses 2-3 more games, and the nuggets lose none or just one, then they can take the fifth seed and we will still hold on to 6th. The nuggets beat the spurs without TD, memphis is struggling, seattle is struggling, sacremento is struggling, wolves suck, and who does that leave you with, they just have a real easy schedule. It builds a lot of confidence though.

I would take this months record with a grain of salt. They do have a very easy schedule the rest of the way tho.
