If there were a movement among conservative christian youth, who felt they needed to take puberty blockers in order to not develop sexual desires, so they could stay celibate for the rest of their lives, and doctors were giving them those medications, would you not see that as a problem?

It's one thing for adults to do as they wish, but it's about age of consent.

Bad things do happen. We'll never prevent all bad things.

Removing the choice from the child, parents and doctor would be far worse than a very few of them potentially making the wrong choice.

Blocking puberty is a medical necessity when the doctor says it is. Far more people are made happy and have better health outcomes by this right than are harmed by it.

To prevent the most from harm you increase access to care. Access to second opinions. Access to education. You enable people to make the right choice, you don't make that choice for them by removing rights.

Removing the ability to make the choice is what a cult would do.

If licensed doctors deemed those children needed treatment then I would trust that they need treatment.

Removing the right of the parent and child to make the choice with the guidance of a licensed expert professional would be a far worse outcome than a mistake happening.

If mistakes were happening at high enough rates I would support insurance requiring a second opinion and I'd support better access to education.

It is much better for society to empower people to make good choices than it is to remove the ability to make choices.

Any time there is a choice there is the possibility of mistakes. Like voting for Trump. I once had two job offers. Took what seemed like the best one. It was a disaster. A slave would have no choice.
The best way to minimize wrong choices is with best possible information. Not by state forcing dictates.

Other than puberty blockers don’t work like that, I see no problem with this at all. Your concern with the breeding ability of children is admirable. So few are willing to die on that hill.

Some of these people spend more time thinking about the sexuality of teenagers more than actual teenagers do.

We really need an unlike button. It should still count as positive as a "like" as far as credit to the poster, but it should show that people are opposed to the content rather than as a downvote.

I'd love to 'dislike' this content.

Maybe we should have a button labeled 'Personal Attack' which one could press when one wants to record negative feelings about a poster, but doesn't want to break the rules.

Trump supporter and self described pro lifer was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison for threatening to kill election workers and their children. When an ally suggested children are off limits he insisted the children be killed as well as the parents. He also said about a Jewish American politician he wants to "push that Jew into an oven so bad I can taste it".

Sound like a very fine person and so pro life.
