If I had to rate the offseason moves so far, this would be my rating: 1 Sacramento Kings 2 Los Angeles Lakers 3 Los Angeles Clippers 4 Golden State Warriors 5 Seattle Supersonics 6 Phoenix Suns 7 Portland Trailblazers
You rate kings had a better off-season by adding just brad miller? while lakers added payton and malone...kings also lost hedo and pollard so how does this mean kings had the better off-season?
Kings lost 2 players who didn't really contribute that much last year, so I don't think it's a big loss. Miller will help them for the years to come, with Divac going into the last year of his contract. Lakers added 2 all stars, but their bench is still pretty weak imho. And, it's short term, at least for Malone...
Lakers had a weak bench the last 4 years...and still won the title 3 out of the last 4 years...lakers bench is not a factor..but it is stronger than it's been for a while..they will have fox and derek fisher coming off the bench...who started in their championships seasons..miller gives the kings 13 and 8..but lakers add two allstars..and them being hall of famers...doesn't matter if it's short term for malone..we are talking about this year..not the future
I see your point, although I do think that the future does matter. I think the Kings did a really good job at looking what they needed most, that's why I put them at 1.
that's why they are in 2nd place in my ranking, but feel free to disagree As for the Clips at #3, I don't think they will be there if they lose both Miller and Magette, but we have to wait what they decide...
But lakers improved their roster at two spots which were weak..and they got those replacments who are allstars...lakers are 1st in this clearly..brad miller is soild..but didn't deserve to be an allstar and certainly wouldn't be one in the west
Brad Miller was an allstar, it doesn't matter if he deserves it or not. Clearly, in the west he's behind Shaq and Yao now, but he's not far behind
Lakers have made the biggest moves. Brad Miller is a bench player with the Kings, why does this make them better than the Lakers? Yes, it gives them depth, but if you can't beat only Shaq and Kobe, how do you expect to stop Payton and Malone along with them?
I'm not saying that the Kings are better than the Lakers, I'm saying that I like their offseason moves a lot. The Lakers are certainly the team to beat for the championship, no doubt about that! Do you really think the Kings would spend that much money on a bench player? I don't think so... They will probably move Divac to the bench, and start with Bibby, Christie, Stojakovic, Webber and Miller.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">But he doesn't put anywhere near the allstar numbers as payton or malone...</div> That's right, but the Kings don't need somebody to score for them, they needed a younger big body who can rebound, and Miller is a perfect fit for them. And ofcourse you know that Malone and Payton put up these numbers in a different situation. Malone has been the go-to guy all these years and now has to take a different role. It will probably work, but his numbers will decline for sure. Like I said, the Lakers will be the team to beat, that's for sure with all the big names. The question is, will the Lakers be a team? In the past, there was some tension between Shaq and Kobe, and now they have to share the spotlight with 2 other big names. It probably will work, but it will take a lot of effort from all parties involved. The Kings won't have these problems, they are a team already, and Miller will easily fit in.
your lisat is messed up. The offer sheet to maggette is from utah not denver. and on warriors lost section it says they did not loose gilbert arenas but he is on the wizards now.
