<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">F ast forward a few months. It's the summer, when the Trail Blazers' brain trust must come to a decision about next season: Is having three capable point guards a luxury, or a logjam? "Hmmm," Steve Blake said, pondering the question with a smile. "Good question." Blake, of course, has been the starter since December, and has impressed coach Nate McMillan not only with his play, but also with his work ethic. Then there's rookie Jarrett Jack, whom McMillan credited as "the surprise" of the season because of his steady play. And, remember, there is Sebastian Telfair, the second-year player who is regarded by management as the future and the promise of the franchise, the one general manager John Nash said "has surpassed what anyone would have realistically expected" in his first two seasons. The opinions on what to do are as varied as the styles of the three players. Telfair adamantly said it can't work next season if all three point guards return. "It wouldn't be fair," Telfair said. McMillan, weary from juggling playing time among equal competitors all season, said he would not look forward to pulling off another hot-potato act. </div> Source
He should be, but I doubt the management would give up on their "future" so quickly. It'll probably be Blake.
I hope it's Jack, I really like Jack and I think he'll be a good NBA player just not in Portland though because of Sebastian being the PG and the 'Future'.
Out of those 3 players, I would trade Telfair in a heartbeat. His game doesn't fit into Nate McMillan's offense. Telfair would be great in the right system, one that has a dominant low post player, or an uptempo team. Out of the 3, Telfair probably gets you back the most in a trade. Right now he still has "potential" attached to his name. The best chance the Blazers have of dealing him is right now, while he's still under his rookie contract. I would want no part of having to deal with resigning Telfair. He's going to demand a lot of money even though his impact isn't anything more than what Jack or Blake can give your team. I think Atlanta would be a great destination for Telfair. They have a lot of young players who run the floor, and the offense allows them to be creative. Plus the Hawks have Joe Johnson to help with the decision making. I would try to deal for Marvin Williams, but settle for Josh Smith.

Their tempo combined will the presence of a KG really leaves a lot to be undesired. KG would benefit as Telfair's strength has to do with his drive and dish ability. When he dominated in the summer he went to his bread and butter. He's not the world's strongest shooter but sending him the the Wolves to tandem with Banks could be something special. The Wolves would have to look to unload Jaric and maybe Troy Hudson (boy, do I not like that guy, but thats another story).

If we were even lucky enough to make the Hawks believe he's worth that, Id rather have Smith; a great defender as well as an athletic scorer. Besides why would they trade for another young PG, they already have that. If it were up to me I would keep Blake and Jacke then draft a PG in 2007 draft. Hopefully Mike Conely will enter the draft that year. I'd like the future of the Blazers to be: PG-Mike Conley SG-Martell Webster SF-Adam Morrison PF-Zach Randolph C-Greg Oden I think It's <u>VERY</u> possible to achieve this line up.

They play the same position on the court. Sebastian Telfair would help the Hawks financial situation as well. He still has quite the fan base and adding him to a young, uptempo Hawks team would provide a lot of excitement for Hawk games. I'm sure it would take more than just Telfair straight up for Josh Smith, but I think Portland has enough to at least get talks going.
Hey To would gladly take Telfair off your hands. How about we eat Ratliff's contract for you and take Telfair for Joey Graham and Eric Williams(were not eating all of that contract). You'll save 18 million over two years and have money to resign Prizabella and also get Graham who's a real good rookie who's been playing great as of late since he's finally geting time.
unfortunately it is telfair that is ironic that he is the player in the banner at the top of the screen. I think Telfair will easily be the best offensive player among the three PGs we have now, but also the worst on defense. Since we are still building the team, we leave a lot more flexibility at the rest of the positions by having a well rounded player or players (Jack and Blake) at PG. Think about it, if we draft Morrison as many (not me) suggest, we would have a projected future lineup that includes Telfair, Morrison and Zach, who are or will be some of the worst defenders in the league at their positions. No thanks to that lineup. Now if we could get Josh Smith for Telfair, that would be a miracle.
i wouldnt trade telfair unless i get a 1st rounder in return because hes only 20-21 and he still has a huge future so they should give him up for like a vetern like sg because there giving away a player who is considered a future allstar

Sebastian Telfair is going to be nuts, if you look at his stats even though he got benched for about half the season if not more he's still improved in almost every catergory. Now only if he had a jumpshot.
I believe Portland will keep Bassy no matter what and make him their franchise point guard. I just don't see how you'd want to keep Steve Blake, and ditch one of your most exciting players who has a lot of potential and is also very marketable.
It might come down to who the Blazers end up drafting. If they land Adam Morrison, I think they can afford to trade Telfair. Using Morrison as the face of the franchise is going to be a lot more marketable in Portland, then Telfair ever will be. You keep Blake because he's more of a pure PG than Bassy and is thriving in Nate's system. Plus Blake is going to be a lot cheaper for the Blazers.
I hope its Jack cuz he is my man and one of my favorite players. But it would be cool if they kept Bassy and Jack and let go of Blake

He's been there best PG this season and by far the most consistent.
