Here’s video of a really close childhood friend of mine being shot and killed by Portland State cops last night. It was his brothers gun. His brother had a concealed weapons permit, and liked to fight. His brother had got very drunk. So my friend Jason took the gun from him as the fight broke out. It fell to the ground during, and then this happened. My friend is in the tan shorts. Jesus dude I'm really sorry to hear this about your friend....I'm with you...guns don't make you safe...they have a better chance of putting you in danger..I'm fucking sick of the shootings...154 mass shooting over the last year....more than any ever in a time of peace....I've said forever that you can legally have all the documents for gun ownership and get shot with that same gun...handguns are not for hunting..they have one real purpose...close range shooting
Wow, man. What a sad deal there. I am sorry for your loss. This is a no win situation. I hope justice prevails and the cops are charged, as they should be. Out late, drunk, fighting, while packing a gun..man..just so many things responsible gun owners should never do.

Why the hell do cops at PSU have guns? If anything, they should have rubber bullets or bean bag stuff, or clubs. Such a senseless act.
Sorry man! That sucks! I have been to the Cheerful Tortoise, although I don't think it is the same one, but the same name, for the same purpose. I never packed a gun there, the gun and the purpose of the place are not a match. I don't think blaming the gun for being in the wrong place while the owner is in the right place for his purpose is logical. It is the owner of the weapon that has his purpose for carry mismatch with his purpose of visiting the Turtle.
The gun doesn't make this choice...the person who thought it would keep them safe does..end result....not justifiable
I think we might agree here, but not sure. But going to a bar for the usual purpose and packing a gun is not thinking! Forget about thinking it will keeping you safe. More like a dumb shit looking for trouble. The friend was not thinking too well either, perhaps he meant well but the results were predictable.
I'm so sorry. He's got a very kind and friendly face. He had to be very happy to be related to an obviously wonderful little girl like that. A friend of mine had a daughter going to PSU. She lived in a school owned apartment building nearby. So, one night she decided to watch some made for TV movie in a neighboring apartment. After the movie, she went back to her apartment. They found her dead the next day. Someone had caved in her head with a pipe while trying to rape her. They pretty much figured out it was a campus security guard. SOB, I hope he rots in hell. They didn't have enough hard evidence to convict him. I don't trust PSU's security. Deepest condolences.
Bud..by no means am I covering for the cops here that are completely in the wrong. You asked why the cops should have guns? Easy, the people on the streets that are out drunk, late at night, fighting and raising hell, do have guns.
