You can select more than one.

Heard all these names at different points on the trade block, but nothing has come if it. Teams are getting fuller and fuller. It looks like we might not be trading anyone. Dallas offered us to shitty a deal and the Lakers won't pay up. We might just see all these guys back maybe at least till the trade deadline. If we can't find trades for some of these guys, I sure hope we don't alienate then. On the other hand we need to move Jerami and Simons so we can focus on Scoot and Shaedon. I guess we will see. For now Joe ain't taking no bullshit on the trade front. Getting fair value or nothing.

    I'm not sure that's true

if he's asking for two 1st's from the Lakers, that's not fair value IMO

I think the problem is diverging notions of what counts as "fair value".

I opted for none. First, I want to be proven wrong and will gladly accept being wrong. Second, the market doesn’t seem to be strong or competitive for the players Portland is rumored to be shopping. Third, Cronin might be asking for too much. If he is holding the hard line as has been reported he will be empty handed and labeled the new Ujiri who holds on to players too long because he over valued them. But I do think a small move like Thybulle or Williams can easily be done.

I voted for Timelord. I would have voted for None if the option had included "because nobody wants our players at the prices Cronin is demanding"

    guessing

    I voted none, seems most likely. So I'd put chance of any single player being gone under 50%. In order of most to least likely I'd rank them as;

    Grant
    .....
    Ant
    Ayton
    Thybulle (no value)
    Timelord (negative value)

Seems like it depends on who the buyer is. The Lakers only have 2 firsts available
and if they give them both to us it keeps them from doing other deals later.

For other teams with extra pics like OKC, two 1sts are not as much of an issue.

Bottom line: Fuck the Lakers. We don't need to help them by taking on their mediocre players when we have plenty of our own.
We can afford to wait it out.

We would "fuck the Lakers" much more if we had one or two of their picks in a few years

Would make enjoying every one of their losses that season much more enjoyable, as well as all their fans freaking out

One of their picks would not hurt them. That is why we need two, or one if they want to include Knecht. Which I don't think they want to or they would have delayed signing him.

If its one pick unprotected it for certain could hurt them, well sure TWO would be even better but I just find it unlikely Grant has that kind of value. Seems more likely they pivot to Kuzma/Cam/etc, or throw in the towel as they did with Kobe and try to stealth tank around the LBJ father/son show.

Guess we will see what happens.

I still think we'll go into training camp without Ant and Jerami. This Lakers deal will get done and them Joe will move on to whatever seeds he has planted for Ant.

their was a problem with this rebuild, it was too expensive. Cronin redlined the salary cap by keeping vets. Probably with the hopes Portland could play ~.350, mildly mediocre fun and competitive basketball before the trade deadline, then tank the team for the ensuing March madness ping pong marathon.

the 'problem' luxury tax issue was fixed. The Blazers sold some draft picks. Cronin gets a high five for flipping unwanted (aka budget cut) draft picks into a solid player on a Jody friendly contract.

Joe's job is done. Chauncey got his guys. The only roster move needed is next summer's tankathon. Trimming salary to add a 2025 super rookie should be a walk in the park.

Now the boss is Blazer fans. If Portland gets stuck in a losing funk, a trendy distraction can be gaslighting LeBron and the Lakers after they lose some games.

I think Ant wants out. I think he's quietly asked for a trade. It sucks that he's one of the worst defenders in the league and not a legit PG. He is a good scorer.

I hope we can get a decent first out of him.

This thought has crossed my mind since he made the comment he wanted to win, knowing that was impossible. Fucks sake, Dame wanted to win and Cronin sent him to a winning team. What would Ant be thinking making that comment? Interestingly though, no leaks at all regarding this. Very possible it is just smoke, no fire.
