Portland Winterhawks - WHL Finals!

I've only been to two games this season so I'm obviously not a huge fan... but its cool that the Winterhawks are in the WHL Finals.

If I remember correctly, the WHL finals are not the Final Finals for the Memorial Cup. I think the Hawks have to win the WHL finals then play a team from the OHL. I also vaguely remember some sort of round robin tournament being played last time the Hawks won the Memorial Cup.

 

I see now. If we win the WHL finals we represent the WHL in a round robin tournament vs other canadian league champions to determine the ultimate Memorial Cup champion. The Hawks have won the cup twice I believe.

I watched the last 3 games, and boy oh boy, it was a miracle that the Hawks were even in the two games @ Kooteney. Completely outplayed, outmatched, outsized. Not even close, IMO.
