Re: Portland's management is really making a turnaround. They've really come a long way.this used to be a really cheap franchise. some people called them the "jailblazers". But after a little luck in the lottery and a little effort this management is turning the team around. They pciked the Rookie of the Year last year in Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge is a valuable asset, I don't need to talk about Greg Oden, they finally got rid of randolph, and now there is talk of them landing rashard lewis in a s&t. niiice.
Re: Portland's management is really making a turnaround. I've always liked the team and I'm happy for them. Pritchard made an absolute steal of a trade by sending Z-Bo to NY for Frye/Francis. Only a team like the Knicks would be dumb enough to send off a young talent for a guy who's been repeatedly in trouble in PORTLAND OREGON and now he's going to NYC. The distractions will be endless for Randolph.

Re: Portland's management is really making a turnaround. I think it would be a good idea to buy out Steve Francis's contract because they just don't need the extra age and a guy who can't work that well with his other teammates well enough, but I still believe he the guy can play, not that the blazers need him though.
Re: Portland's management is really making a turnaround. I think it would be a pretty bad idea to keep francis to be honest. He'll just take minutes from webster and disrupt chemistry. I say you cut 'im loose!
Re: Portland's management is really making a turnaround. francis' agent is already reportedly shopping francis around the NBA, so it looks like he wont play a game in a blazers' jersey (thank god). Hed probly cry because he's too far from home anyway.
Re: Portland's management is really making a turnaround. I believe Francis should suit up for the Blazers. He fit well as a 6th man on the Knicks last year and could help portland make a nice playoff push. If they get rid of francis and get nothing in return then the Randolph deal wasnt good at all. Everyone hates randolph but it wasnt his fault the blazers sucked. He played hard and was a great scorer/rebounder which is all you can ask of your big man. Channing Frye is a decent player but if you actually look at the deal it benefited the Knicks more than anyone. Everyone talks about how hard it is to find a 20/10 big man and you trade away a 20/10 big man and you get a 10/5 guy and its a good deal?

One thing the Blazers aren't is cheap. I agree that they've made a whole series of smart moves the last few years though. I do wonder if they couldn't have gotten a bit more or Randolph, but apparently everyone is just scared of his posse.
Still, I would have thought a team with a strong set of leaders and a talent deficiency (the Lakers or Heat, for example) would take a chance on keeping him in line.
