Pretty self-explanatory. Pound for Pound meaning regardless height, if all players were the same height/weight who would be the best?
Allen Iverson. He already does so much while being so short. If he can get a shot off while a 6'6 guy is guarding him, think about someone his size guarding him.
Agreed! This whole idea was to prove my friend (who has recently joined the site as flash) said Wade is better than Iverson pound for pound.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Iggy:</div><div class="quote_post">Agreed! This whole idea was to prove my friend (who has recently joined the site as flash) said Wade is better than Iverson pound for pound.</div> Wade is better IMO.
tmac??? he is huge, 6'10 200 whatever. I dont see how anyone can not say AI. He is one of the best, and easily the smallest out of all stars. I mean he is what, 5'11" 165 i believe. I dontbeleive his listed height btw.
Didnt I say Iverson? And it says who do you think is the best player in the nba. meaning its an opinion. so i am saying iverson and mcgrady.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">Wade is better IMO.</div> Wade maybe stronger then Iverson but not only can Allen take it to the hole just as hard as Wade, but he is also a better shooter then Wade is.
I'm going against the general consensus of your typical "superstar" player, but I'm going to say Andrei Kirlienko. The guy can score, rebound, pass, steal, block, defend etc. etc. He can do everything, he is the most complete player in the NBA. To me, that makes him the best (or one of).
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair15:</div><div class="quote_post">Didnt I say Iverson? And it says who do you think is the best player in the nba. meaning its an opinion. so i am saying iverson and mcgrady.</div> its pound for pound, not best. There is a big differance
This wouldn't be fair because most big men use their height and weight to their advantage. This would mean all of the guards in the NBA would be just as tall as the big men, but with better handles and mobility. If you limit height and weight, you might as well limit speed, quickness, and athleticism as well. But, if I must answer the question, I'd say it's a toss-up between Iverson and Kobe.
the pound for pound explanation isnt correct imo. I have always considered it as who is the best for their height/weight? like a math problem, skills/height,weight=pound for pound ability. If everyone was tghe same, then like gifted said, we may as well limit everything.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Junoon:</div><div class="quote_post">Wade maybe stronger then Iverson but not only can Allen take it to the hole just as hard as Wade, but he is also a better shooter then Wade is.</div> So Iverson is a better shooter, then what? Wade is the better rebounder, passer, defender, and more clutch player.
I guess I did define pound for pound wrong. I really wasn't sure how to though, anyone want to define it for everyone?
I will take Iverson then. He is so short and so skinny, and yet he is still do the same things as anyone.
