Troy Murphy(notes) hadn't played for the New Jersey Nets since early January, but the Golden State Warriors traded for the 6-11 center-forward and his expiring contract, anyway, and are expected to release him. Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics traded away Kendrick Perkins(notes) and picked up center Nenad Krstic(notes) from the Oklahoma City Thunder to add to its two hurt centers (Shaquille O'Neal(notes) and Jermaine O'Neal(notes)) on the roster. The South Florida Sun Sentinel has it that Boston will try to acquire Murphy when he becomes available. The paper also expects the Miami Heat to be bidding on Murphy's services. Until the Celts add Murphy or someone else, the Sun Sentinel notes that Krstic and Kevin Garnett(notes) will be filling the minutes at center. The Hartford Courant reports that former Celtics 6-8 forward Leon Powe(notes), who was waived by the Cleveland Cavaliers, is also a possibility for signing by Boston. Source: Y! Sports
