"The Predators cut their roster to 50 players Tuesday, sending defensemen Taylor Aronson and Charles-Olivier Roussel, and forwards Austin Watson and Michael Latta to their junior teams.

Defensemen Jamie Doornbosch and Cameron Wind were released

    from amateur tryout agreements.

Watson, Nashville's 2010 first-round draft pick, impressed the Predators coaches with two goals in his two scrimmage games.

"I thought he was outstanding today for a young guy," Predators Coach Barry Trotz said.

"He has a really good head on his shoulders, knows the game, blocks shots and commits himself as a player."

Watson mentioned the NHL-level pace as a major adjustment for him in the camp.

"These guys are always going. They always do things at top speed, and you can't get caught standing still," Watson said.

"These guys are all grown men — real fast out here and something I need to focus on.""
