What do you guys think? Optimistically I think we can finish up at #6 next season with the Lakers getting bumped out of the top 5 seeds in the West. I hope we can win 50+ games next season. To be honest, I haven't been this excited for a long time. I mean I've been excited ever since Yao got to the Rockets, but this is a whole new level.

We have a chance to go further than everyone else thinks.
yea man , especially if Reece Gaines becoomes a player, the Rockets could be dangerous. But they need to get to it and sign someone, get a veteran PG. Use the G Rice trade exception
I think 4th in the West is likely- behind Sacramento, San Antonio and Minnesota...even if we sign a decent, second-tier PG, we'll be alright...
Minny, Spurs and Sac finishing ahead of us isn't surprising. But do you guys think we'll get past Dallas? They still have a nice core of team there. Let's not forget the Grizzlies. Last season we had a losing record vs. them in the regular season..

Let me tell u something, last year lakers had both kobe and shaq.

I say the Rockets will get the 3rd seed overall if they can pickup a legitimate guard, like Eric Snow or Charlie Ward to run the offense. Also, this is assuming T-Mac locks down, and Reese Gaines shows he can run the point off the bench.
Houston will be a playoff team but they will be from the 4-8 spot San Antonio, Minnesota, Sacramento,Dallas,Memphis and we don't know how good Phoenix will be if they sign Q R. We have to wait til everyone has sign with their teams
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting lamarodom007:</div><div class="quote_post">Last year?? Let me tell u something, last year lakers had both kobe and shaq. </div> WTF r u talkin bout? O yeah are you reminding everyone how much the duo of Shaq and Kobe owns Yao and T-Mac? On-topic: 4th or 5th seed. Houston will be fighting Denver for the 4th seed

Last year dallas has big 3.but not now.lakes has shaq and kobe but not now. so who the fxxx cares.
Rockets will contend for the 4th seed and homecourt advantage next season If they can pick up a good point guard who can pass the ball into the post and take care of the ball. Now that Barry and Fisher have been signed by other teams, Houston's best bet is to go after Damon Jones. Very soild point guard who can get the ball inside, find the open man and will not turn the ball over.
1. San Antonio 2. Minnesota 3. Sacramento 4. Houston 5. Dallas 6. Denver 7. New Orleans 8. Utah thats how I see it working out, with any of the bottom four flip-flopping...also the 8th spot will be close with Utah, Phoenix, Lakers and Memphis all challenging...I see Dallas as being the team most likely to have a significant dropoff in wins... wow, the West is gonna be a dogfight next season...
4th Edit.. 1. San Antonio 2. Minnesota 3. hmm.. Sacromento 4. Houston/Denver (Whoever gets it right) 5. Denver..? 6. Utah* 7. Dallas* (depending..) 8. Phoenix* 9. Memphis* (Dunno bout them, Easily can be in top 5) 10. Lakers* 11. New Orleans* 12. Golden State 13. Portland 14. Clippers *denotes teams that can make 6,7,8 spots in the playoffs. (my opinion, of course)
The west is going to be so hard to pick this season, i reckon Spurs are gonna be top, but IMO all the other spots are up for graps (anyone can get them) Minnesota is still up there, but whats happening with SAM is he gonna be fit for the whole season/playoffs? i reckon they coulda beat LA if SAM was in top gear (purely my opinion here) Denver has quite a solid frontline with the addition of k-mart and a decent backcourt Pheonix now with nash, amare, marion, and possibly q-rich thats a pretty talented lineup right there. No one knows how T-Mac and Yao are going to mix, but i reckon they'll be a solid combo and now its going to be tough to match up to Yao in the west with shaq gone so many possibilities, so many factors, its gonna be a really exciting season i'd say
