I agree with just about everything except for the starting lineup. I'm not sure who will be the 5th behind calderon/hedo/bosh/bargnani, but i see derozen as being a 8-9-10th guy that gets really sporadic minutes.

Also i find it really funny how i got in a huge discussion with a guy on JBB that said bosh was better than kg. Just about everyone thought bosh had already passed him 2 years ago. I love the guy and his game though, i'm really excited to watch this team next year. Hopefully belli becomes a starter. I'm so annoyed you guys got him for nothing and the t wolves keep picking up shit :(

KG has man to man defense, is a shotblocking presence and rebounding, Bosh doesn't.

I truly don't see DeRozan starting anytime soon, he's simply too raw if Raptors want to compete. Belinelli seems like the ideal player but his flopping, matador defense doesn't fit well w/ the starters, while his playmaking ability would be better off the bench. Wright seems like the ideal guy to insert there, but I could see the Raptors pulling a page out of the Pacers book and starting Jack @ SG.

I think we need Jack off the bench, and to focus his minutes at PG to give Calderon some competition.

yeah, wright probably starts the season as a starter, with jack and belli as 6th and 7th men. I bet both get more minutes than wright. Sort of like jr smith and dahntay jones last year at denver.

If Wright can work hard on the defensive end and play well in camp, he should get the start. Belinelli would be a better sixth man than starter IMO and Derozan is still young. Although if Derozan can play some good D than I don't mind him starting even if his offense is still unpolished.

btw, I think the rotation will be:

    Bargnani / Nesterovic / O'Bryant
    Bosh / Evans
    Turkoglu / DeRozan
    Wright / Bellinelli / Douby
    Calderon / Jack / Ukic

with Mensah-Bonsu maybe added in there. I think Wright will be the starter, but his minutes per will be only a bit more than Bellinelli and DeRozan (maybe less). DeRozan might be pencilled in as the backup 3 here, but it's not all that significant IMO. He'll play just as much at the 2. In fact, DeRozan, Wright, Bellinelli, and Jack will be splitting minutes at two positions all season long, and their position on the depth chart is more of a formality.

the best way to ensure that derozan gets a min of 15 minutes is by starting him. and wright doenst figure into the long term plan but derozan does

I think Wright should get the starting job because of the importance of starting out games strongly. He's arguably our best perimenter defender and if he can at least hold his own against the opposition's best perimeter player, we'll be dictating the flow of the game from the get-go. He can play 5-10 minutes in the beginning of each game and those minutes would be more valuable than anything else he does for the rest of the game.

I'm not too worried about DeRozan's role. The organization has made it a clear priority to let him dictate how many minutes he can play. He'll come in with a clean slate and his performance will help the team will determine how many minutes he'll play and the nature of those minutes. Unlike last year, we'll have 48 minutes of solid PG play so it's not like he'll be hung out to dry coming off the bench.

joey is a nba player, no doubt about it. the kid can play multiple positions (e.g. 2, 3 and the 4); he can rebound; score when he wants to and his alright on some nights defensively. the problem with him is of course consistency, however, a team would be insane not to take a chance on him for a min salary. i think the best fit would be minny where he would be reunited with babcock.
