    WWJD?

    Pressure on Paxson to Deliver

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> At this time of year, many Bulls fans pray. Yes, they still remember Draft Day 2001 and the trade of Elton Brand for the rights to Tyson Chandler. So many fans can get out their WWJD bracelets.

Yes, they wonder, "What will John do?"

General manager John Paxson is at a crucial point in current Bulls history. The Bulls have escaped from the desperation of the Tim Floyd-Eddy Curry era to field a competitive team, but one that still had a .500 record and has yet to win a playoff series. They have a good young core of talent with Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Andres Nocioni and Chandler. They have the Nos. 2 and 16 picks in Wednesday's draft, and considerable room below the salary cap to pursue free agents. But there isn't much room for error.</div>

If there is the remote possibility of Nocioni leaving the NBA why trade Deng?
If we trade Deng and then lose Nocioni we have no SFs, when we could just keep Deng and trade Nocioni and still have one.

I don't see the point in mentioning the Brand trade. It didn’t happen during the Paxson era so it wasn’t even his fault. Anyway, I have a lot of faith in John Paxson he has done a great job of rebuilding this team after the Krause era. There is a lot of pressure on him to make some good picks, or trades, if we don’t keep the picks. However, there always is when picking this early. Hopefully Paxson makes the right choice.

Anyway, I think Paxson should get an extension.

BTW: WWJD bracelets = What Would Jesus Do

WWRD - What Would Reynaldo Do.

I have my own religion based on a Tennessee Titans player. [IMG]

As for Deng, I think there was some mention of it. My point still stands either way.

I don?t think that Nocioni has any serious intentions on returning overseas. Most of the rumors of him returning overseas came out during his rookie season, because he was getting into so many fights and picking up some technical for what he saw as hard defense. People had labeled him a dirty player, and he was beginning to take offense to it. However, this season I did not hear much, actually I didn?t hear anything, about him wanting to go overseas again. After the performance he had in the playoffs, and the success he has found. I doubt he turns down the big payday he has coming when he finally becomes a free agent. I don't think he would play for any team other than the Bulls though.

Didn't he say they were lies during an interview one time? I thought I heard it somewhere on this board, but I may be wrong.
