QUOTE

ATLANTIC DIVISION NETS LAST YEAR'S RECORD: 41-41 ADDITIONS: Jamaal Magloire, Malik Allen, Sean Williams, Robert Hite LOSSES: Cliff Robinson, Mikki Moore, Eddie House, Hassan Adams COMMENTS: The keys to their season are Richard Jefferson staying healthy and accepting his role, Carter living up to his new pact, especially at crunch time, and Nenad Krstic's return from ACL surgery.
Boston Celtics LAST YEAR'S RECORD: 24-58 ADDITIONS: Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Eddie House, James Posey, Scot Pollard, Glen "Big Baby" Davis, Gabe Pruitt, Jackie Manuel, Brandon Wallace LOSSES: Al Jefferson, Wally Szczerbiak, Ryan Gomes, Delonte West, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, Allan Ray COMMENTS: Give them some time to jell, but Danny Ainge has assembled a team capable of going far if it stays relatively healthy and everyone plays their role. The House and Posey signings give the bench needed depth. Good luck guarding this team.
Toronto Raptors LAST YEAR'S RECORD: 47-35 ADDITIONS: Jason Kapono, Carlos Delfino, Jamario Moon LOSSES: Morris Peterson, Uros Slokar, Pape Sow COMMENTS: With Boston's moves and the Nets expected to be healthy, everyone seems to have forgotten that Toronto is the defending champ. Health — Chris Bosh (plantar fasciatis) and Jorge Garbajosa (ankle/leg surgery) — and how this young team develops in Year 2 together are big issues. If all goes well, they should be chasing the division crown with the Nets and Celtics.
New York Knicks LAST YEAR'S RECORD: 33-49 ADDITIONS: Zach Randolph, Fred Jones, Wilson Chandler, Dan Dickau, Demetris Nichols LOSSES: Steve Francis, Channing Frye COMMENTS: They have two bulls in the post in Randolph, a legit 20 and 10 guy, and Eddy Curry that will cause match-up nightmares. But they have to be able to coexist, and other offensive-minded players (Stephon Marbury and Jamal Crawford) have to give up shots. This team still doesn't have any winners.
Philadelphia 76ers LAST YEAR'S RECORD: 35-47 ADDITIONS: Reggie Evans, Calvin Booth, Thaddeus Young, Jason Smith, Ricky Sanchez, Derrick Byars, Herbert Hill LOSSES: Joe Smith, Alan Henderson, Steven Hunter, Bobby Jones COMMENTS: They're banking on youth and Andre Iguodala and Andre Miller developing good chemistry from their first training camp together. They will continue to miss Allen Iverson.
OTHER EAST NOTABLES/RIVALS

More Here
