Canadian mixed martial artist and kickboxer Gary Goodridge, a mainstay on the fight scene since the mid-90s, has been diagnosed with brain damage (CTE - chronic traumatic encephalopathy), also known as pugilistic dementia. The condition is a result of excessive concussions and is commonly diagnosed among boxers, hockey and football players, who have sustained excessive brain trauma. The result is the degeneration of brain tissue that in Gary's case has caused extensive memory loss thus far. Gary can hardly recall his fighting career.
