They have a great young team, and if they stick together, they will be the next champions out of the East. I think next year they can win it all, JO is constantly improving, Artest just needs to control himself on offense more, if they can get one more offensive player to step up they could contend with the west.
I was somewhat disappointed, but I realize it is a great learning experience for this team. Now, they have more playoff experience and the hunger for the championship would propel them forward. Here's to next season. :beerchug:
It's aight Indiana. You're future is bright. Keep ya head up and keep working. If Kobe goes to jail, you might have a chance. HAHA. Nah, I don't want Kobe to go to jail.
Great season Pacers. Having the best record in the league is something to be proud of, especially 61 wins. This team is obviously very young and has a great coach to help everyone on their way. I think people like Fred Jones will end up preforming well for the Pacers in the next few years. Good luck 2004-05 Pacers Fans, Cheers!
yea, pacers had more positives than negatives this year. played well against the west, 61 wins, experience gained. my question is, will reggie come off the bench next year and let the young talent the pacers have to shine and be more effective for them? someone has to take over for reggie sooner or later, so would that be sooner than later?
The pacers definiately improved over last year and only will get better. Jamison Brewer will make a definite inpact in the next few years(if indiana re-signs him) Nice core talent but they will get better
The Pacers need to do something about their glut at PG with Tinsley, Johnson, Anderson and Brewer. All of them are mediocre players. Either package a few of them for a good PG or drop at least one of them. Seems like Brewer or Anderson would have to be the ones to go.
They are a better point guard away from being the best in the East.. Of course they looked to be the best in the east until Detroit go Rasheed Wallace... The Pacers are very young.. They do have a bright future.. This has to be a sign of good things to come..
They would've done so much better had Tinsley and J'O not been injured. As for the season being promising? It was more than that, your team did it's best and was one of the best. Gave it its all and did well, you finished with the best season record. I'd consider you a Western top tier team regardless of you being in the East. But yes a PG will bring you closer to NBA Gold, go after that, also if Reggie seems to be losing it, as much as it pains me, go for someone top tier.
Rumor has it that Harrington wants to start, either on the Pacers or another team. I think he can be a star, and I think it is time to move Reggie to the bench and move Harrington into the starting lineup.

Brewer is a good defender but really nothing else. And Kenny Anderson could have really helped this team with his on court veteran leadership in Playoffs vs the Pistons, once Tinsley started feeling the effects of his injury. But he just wasnt use to playing because once he came back from injury he didnt get any run anymore. So he wants to go back to New Jersey. I do have a trade idea, its rumored that Troy Hudson wants out of Minny, so I have an idea. The Timberwolves trade Troy Hudson & Ervin Johnson for Anthony Johnson & Scott Pollard. Why do the Wolves do this trade, if Hudson wants out they are going to need a backup pg. And Anthony Johnson is probably a better backup pg for them than Hudson imo. The wolves already have plenty of scoring at the PG spot with Cassell. What they need is somebody to run the offense when Cassell is on the bench & get the ball to the right people in the right spots. Anthony Johnson has shown the ablity to do that the past 3 seasons with the Nets & Pacers. And he is a defensive upgrade for Hudson at the backup point guard. Something that the Wolves need since Cassell isnt a defensive pg & often has trouble guarding some of the scoring pg's in the league. And Scott Pollard when he was in the west brought some scrappiness to the table. And can guard some of those Western Conference big bodies that gave the Wolves trouble during the regular season & playoffs. Why the Pacers do this trade, easy Jamal Tinsley has pretty much been a diappointment the last few years in the playoffs. Teams really dont respect his offensive scoring ablities unless he is penetrating. And this lack of respect often creates poor floor spacing for the Pacers on offense leaving no room for Oneal & Artest to operate in the post & mid-range area without seeing double teams. And to beat the better teams in the east(Nets & Pistons) the Pacers are going to need more scoring out of thier backcourt. So what do you guys think of this trade idea, their isnt any truth to this deal,it was just something I was thinking about.
I like the idea of Troy Hudson being in a Pacers uniform. He doesn't seem like a true point guard to me though and I'm not too much sold on his defence. Tinsley was perfect for the Pacers in the sense that he played his role (distributing the ball and hitting the open shot) very well when he wasn't injured. The only thing I hate about him is the fact that he can't play defence on any point guard in the league. Don't be surprised if Indiana picks up Duhon in the draft. He seems like he is the kind of player Carlisle would appreciate. The Pacers not only have a problem with their point guard but they also have one with their shooting guard as well. Let's be honest, they were playing with two defensive liabilities on the court who were starters (Miller and Tinsley). We know Miller can't hack it as a starter on an NBA team anymore, he would be best suited in a sixth man role. Who can the Pacers pick up in the offseason to take Reggie's place in the lineup? Or will they just adjust the lineup to have Bender/Harrington starting and Artest playing the 2?

Troy at the point? sure but he is injured, and he doesn't play greater defense than Freddie and A-johnson. if ron get's millers place in the lineup, and harrington to the 3, they will have no great shooter on the floor. I look forward to be signing someone like F-Lopez, or hassel at the 2, they both got D, and maybe E-Damp also who knows?
Are you talking about Felip Lopez? I'm not sure on which Lopez you are talking about. Also Hassell does not satisfy the Pacers need for a shooting guard. He is a defence first player and I don't think that will change at all. I don't see many shooting guards in this draft or free agency to help the Pacers become an elite team. By Elite, I mean Western conference elite.
I don't think Hudson would fit into Carlisle's offense. He likes to run and is pretty turnover-prone. What made Tinsley succeed with the Pacers was because he could play to a half-court offense when asked to, and get out on the break as well. I don't think Hudson would handle playing a slow-tempo offense. As for Al Harrington wanting to start, I say to hell with him. All that he is is an inconsistent player who needs minutes to produce. His attitude is not very good and his offensive is not really very refined as well. All that he has is very good defense. If the Pacers can fetch a good role player for him, I'd wish they would trade him.
