2/14/2011 "Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger didn't need to see a replay to know Kings forward Jarret Stoll saw him in a vulnerable position and rammed him head-first into the boards anyway. As a matter of fact, Pronger says Stoll let him know he was coming. "He got me from behind," Pronger said. "I knew he was coming. He told me he was coming. There was nowhere I could go. I had my stick on the puck, so I couldn't put my hands up to protect myself. There wasn't much else I could do. I knew he was coming, but that doesn't mean he can hit me from behind." The play in question occurred with 6:23 remaining in the third period with the Kings holding a precarious 1-0 lead. But instead of the Flyers going on the power play, Pronger retaliated by cross-checking Stoll into the boards and was slapped with a roughing minor. "I don't think anything surprises me anymore," Pronger said of the call. Laviolette said he also felt Stoll got away without a boarding penalty, "but I'm not the one making the calls." Shelley in, Zherdev out LW Jody Shelley returned to the lineup for the first time since Jan. 25 and got into a heavyweight fight with Kevin Westgarth. Shelley took the place of RW Nik Zherdev, who on Thursday night received just 7:59 of ice time, his lowest total since Nov. 20. Zherdev is sixth on the Flyers with 15 goals but he has clearly fallen out of favor with Laviolette and could be traded before the Feb. 28 NHL trade deadline. Asked what Zherdev needs to do to get back in the lineup, Laviolette skirted the question. "You know, this was an opportunity to get Jody back in there, and he was ready," Laviolette said. "He came out because of illness and this was just a chance to get him back in there. Like I said before, it's just a numbers game." Bobrovsky returns After seeing Brian Boucher allow just one goal in back-to-back victories, Laviolette went back to rookie Sergei Bobrovsky, underscoring the fact the Flyers still do not have a definitive No. 1 netminder two months before the playoffs are to begin."
