    LMA + filler for
West, Granger and Indy's #23 pick

after....Portland combines its #10 and our Greek to move up and grab Olapido.

Takes Indy's #23 and drafts best available banger

Blazers not Brazers! maybe a mod can fix the title of this thread? thanks

    Go Bazers!

West is a FA. I doubt he wants to agree to a s&t to a rebuilding team.

the 10 and the Greek is not going to get Olapido

Maybe, maybe not. The teams with cap space all are lottery teams. It's not like he can sign a good deal with the other teams. Most likely a "sign and trade" is what's going to get him a good contract and a location that has a better shot at competing.

The reason why I like this one is Granger, when healthy, was an all-star. Also, West was an all-star as well, but obviously not one now. The advantage of this deal for Indiana is they are contenders; which I believe Aldridge would be open to resign with them. Also, he would be paired with arguably the best center in the league right now. Also, Indiana has Paul George; who has taken over the starting SF position. Again, making Granger expendable.

This is how you can immediately rebuild without missing a beat.

There has never been a draft day trade involving a future sign and trade. EVER.

True, but if we somehow hear rumors that Indy's #23 is coming our way......then we can hope that my conceptual trade has legs and can come to fruition in two weeks.

I think that Indy would be a really good fit for LMA. We move him away from the West and his personality would fit with that team. If he thought Portland was boring....Ha!

And acquiring the #23 along with West and Granger has huge upside to the Blazers - and we still have our money to pursue a Center and our #10.

Does nothing for this team long-term.

    An easy pass IMO.

Why can't you post these in the number of other Aldridge trade threads?

You might as well hope that the Blazers agree to sign Dwight Howard today its just as likely.

I'd love to hear that call with David Wests agent. "We've agreed to a draft day trade with your client, we think he will sign for $9 million a year" Agent: "No we want $60 million over 4 years"

In your scenario the Blazers already agreed to the trade so now we have to overpay him $20 million too?

Not to mention if you try and agree to a deal now it would be against the rules of the CBA since teams can't negotiate with free agents until July 1st.
