Protected Bulls in "Cats" Expansion Draft Who do you guys think that the bull's will protect in the expansion draft. I think their gonnna protect nearly all of thier big men, all of em got potential and they got JC and Kirk at gaurds so who else do they need to protect? Protected players: 1.Kirk Hinrich 2.Jamal Crawford 3.Eddy Curry 4.Antonio Davis/ 5.Linton Johnson III 6.Marcus Fizer 7.Jerome Williams 8.Tyson Chandler/Eddie Robinson(one of the two for sure)
what about tyson chandler? is this draft after the free agent signing because i think crawford might leave but i hope he stays. if they don't protect e-rob or davis are their contracts terminated?
My bad ill put Chandler in their, i think he was a bad trade they shouldnt have traded Brand for him.
no doubt they should have not traded brand for chandler, brand was a young star already chandler on the other hand was a young player with potential, but brand was already up there. maybe chandler, first round pick 2006 (next year), and cash for brand, would be a cool trade, they are getting tyson and more back, oh well the bulls just got to move on...
yeah right, everyone on this team is a gonner except hinrich and curry (maybe davis and pargo now), but everyone else sucks and is a disappointment. they need new players, trade these guys who can play better perimeter defense and SG/SF who can guard and score consistently...
i HIGHLY doubt fizer will be protected cause didn't he want to be on another team? He didn't play that often and he doesn't really fit at all so we would probably want the cats to take him since we didn't trade him before the deadline... Chandler is a definite protected player, I'm pretty sure E-Robbery would be first to leave. Pargo would be protected too he's a stud.
lol, you guys have any knowledge whatsoever? fizer? chander? etc? think about geniuses, if they are a losing, pathetic team, supposed to go to the playoffs and have the second worst record, what makes you think they will have any of the players next season (again, except hinrich, curry, pargo, davis)? think about it, they can't win with most of these sorry players, so why in the world would paxson keep them? if he's made all these moves during this season (which were all great by the way, not one am i disappointed with; hinrich, skiles, davis, pargo, JYD), what makes you think there won't be a cleaning house this off-season?

You can TRADE players such as Chandler, Fizer, etc.

Current Roster / Next Year's Status / Protected or Unprotected ========== 1. Jerome Williams - Signed / Protected 2. Eddy Curry - Signed / Protected 3. Tyson Chandler - Signed / Protected 4. Antonio Davis - Signed / Protected 5. Eddie Robinson - Signed / Protected 6. Kirk Hinrich - Signed / Protected 7. Chris Jefferies - Signed / Protected Marcus Fizer - Free Agent Jamal Crawford - Free Agent Corie Blount - Free Agent Dalibor Bagaric - Free Agent Kendall Gill - Free Agent Rick Brunson - Free Agent Linton Johnson - Free Agent Ronald Dupree - Free Agent Paul Shirley - Free Agent Jannero Pargo - Free Agent Scottie Pippen - Signed / Unprotected or Retired Jay Williams - Retired The Bulls can protect up to 8 players, and with the make up of their current roster, they should be able to protect all of their players on contract and not risk losing anyone to the Bobcats. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they leave Eddie Robinson, JYD, and Antonio Davis unprotected so they can rid themselves of those hefty contracts.
yeah i was thinking about it after i posted, they don't have to protect their RFA's like Jamal Crawford or their free agents like Pargo right? I'm not familiar with the rules for who you can protect and stuff...

Chicago wont protect JYD, ERob, or Davis because of their contracts. In fact, Chicago would love to see Charlotte snatch one of them up. That being said, Chicago probably will protect: 1. Curry 2. Chandler 3. Crawford(RFA) 4. Hinrich 5. Pargo(cheap backup who has shown good play) 6. Fizer (Chicago may as well protect him, and try to sign and trade him. If they cannot accomplish a S&T, they can just let him walk via FA. But they have nothing to lose in protecting him) That's it. Jeffries, Johnson, Dupree, Gill, Brunson, and Shirley are scrubs who can be easily replaced. (And let's be honest, why would Charlotte be interested in any of them?)
