I would LOVE to see Joel back. I hate goodbyes. He's been a fan favorite for a long time, in a similar way like Sabonis was. I really hope he comes back.

And just think--in ONE week on March 5, we are going to see him in Portland wearing a Bobcats jersey. Can you imagine the standing ovation he'll get? I would kill to be there.

Man I hope he is able to play for us again. Ya, we play them twice in the next 2 weeks or so. Joel will get a standing ovation........ then lay Rudy, Nic and LA the fuck out as they try to take it to the hoop!!!

I don't think Joel is allowed to say anything about a buyout if he knows about it (collusion rules), but his hints sure seem like that might be the case!

There aren't too many organizations that will basically give a player a farewell party after they trade him.

6 and a half years service with the Blazers. Man, I loved his D and rebounding. He was a great interior force, defensively. I hope he'll come back either later this year or next season.

The only problem I have with Joel coming back next year is that I think we need to find a young project (like OKC found Ibaka) and start grooming him. Maybe we would have room for both; I don't think we really need 3 point guards (plus Elliot Williams) on the roster next year.

If we get Joel back I'll be beyond stoked. And we'll have beyond ripped off CHA.

It's just too bad about the knee injuries last year. I think he would have had at least two or three more years of solid ball ahead of him. At this point though, I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to hang em up in the offseason.

Yeah, but didn't he say before the trade that he was going to sit down after the season and really consider his options?

No doubt. It also might have been something he said to hopefully dissuade people from trading for him... who knows.

Well no matter what happens in the future I wish him well now. One of my all-time favorite players to lace 'em up for the Blazers, just a true pro.

My thoughts as well. He was so raw when he came here. He went for EVERY block, and just looked clueless out there. He willed himself to be a not only a shot-blocker, but a good post defender. He was a beast on the boards - never missed a box out. And on offense nobody that ever wore a Blazer uniform set a better pick than Joel. Not to mention he worked his butt off to go from a sub 50% FT shooter to a respectable 65-70%. What i saw this year made me sad for him at times - having to tip rebounds to himself because he can't jump anymore, ugg. But he never complained. I just love this guy. I hope we get him back.

all things must pass but what a stud JP was during his time in Portland. Dude definitely gave his all playing through & rehabbing his way back from injuries, and noticeably improving various facets of his game. He seemed to have maxed out his effort and talent which is very admirable.

I expect him to be a much healthier/better player next year then this. As others have said, I wish him the best no matter where his career and life takes him

I want Przy back in uniform for this team, with his play on the court representing only about half the reason. He brings a toughness in the paint that we don't have without him. He also is as much of an enforcer as is allowed these days. How many times have we seen our players bullied, only to see Joel stand up for them or set a hard pick or give a sharp elbow to send a message? Come the playoffs, that's exactly what we'll need.

On the other hand, given our medical track record, I don't blame the guy going to Charlotte just to get his knee checked out. ;)

I am hoping Charlotte buys him out and he just comes back here in a month.

    Yup.

As for next year, I think we'll get GO and Pendy back. I don't see us signing Joel.

If he'll play for half a mid-level or a Vet's minimum to retire here like Wayne Cooper, then I'll sign him. But I'd rather we get him back this year and let him retire unless he's serious about continuing on.

I'm kind of ambivalent about Pendergraph, but I still follow him on twitter and from the sounds of things he's still living here in PDX and rehabbing, and was pretty jacked about the win last night ... definitely feels like a guy who might want to come back (whether that's a good thing or a bad thing I'll leave alone for now).
