Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols has been named National League Player of the Week for the period including his consecutive walk-off home runs that led to a weekend sweep of the Chicago Cubs. Pujols officially ended a nagging power fade by crashing five home runs and amassing a 1.074 on-base-plus-slugging percentage during a week that saw the club go 4-3 in its home stand against the San Francisco Giants and the Cubs. Pujols smoked a 12th-inning home run, his second of the game, to beat the Cubs on Saturday. On Sunday, he repeated the feat in the 10th inning. Pujols used the stand to raise his overall average from .257 to .278 and his OPS from .722 to .826. He hit .444 (12-for-27) for the week.
