Q&A with Ira Winderman <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Q: Isn't it fair to blame Pat Riley for the Heat's 0-7 start because Stan Van Gundy only had FOUR days to work with the team? Shawn Duhan, Fort Walton Beach, FL A: I think it is fair to put some blame on Pat's timing. Take away the 0-7 start and the Heat would be far more competitive in the standings. More than that, I think Stan could have forged a much better working relationship over a full training camp as coach. Pat did Stan no favors with his timing. ------------------- Q: Does Brian Grant lead the league in getting his shots blocked? Doesn't it seem like he gets at least three shots blocked every game? Brad Friedman, Cold Spring Harbor, NY A: It seems like that. That's what happens when your center plays below the rim. I think Brian needs to accept a bit more that he is what he is, and kick out some of those rebounds and reset the offense. ------------------- Q: Do you think Dwyane Wade will ever be healthy with his reckless style of play? Gerald Sampson, Hoboken, NJ A: Good question. I think Dwyane needs to learn when a layup will suffice instead of a dunk, when diving for a loose ball might not be prudent. With his talent, the Heat needs him around for 10 seasons, not on and off the injured list. Part of the maturation of an NBA player is learning to pick your spots. </div> More: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basketb...aqa01.htmlstory
