The Quadrantids meteor shower will be prominent this weekend as it makes an appearance in the north to north-eastern skies.

Astronomers predict it will be mostly visible on Saturday at 9pm and early Sunday morning.

It will be visible in northern regions, near the Big Dipper constellation.

The Quadrantid meteor shower is always the first meteor shower of every new year.

Unfortunately, in 2015, the almost-full waxing gibbous moon will obscure this year’s presentation.
