This quote written by a Laker fan......

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I bleed purple and gold everytime our season begins. Every clutch play from Kobe, any spectacular comebacks by the Lakers, and every incredible performance...it gives me an adrenaline rush and I'll go take it to the basketball courts after the game. Being doubted each year, hearing guys talk bad about the Lakers constantly, and now being the underdogs for the first time in a LONG time...oooh yeah. Two words: bring it.</div>
In all of our years of being proud, sometimes labeled arrogant, boastful Laker fans, in everybody's takes on this, what are some of the qualities that it takes to be a diehard, bleeding purple and gold in your veins Laker fan? What are some of the little things necessary to gain and earn respect as a well-known proud fan that other individual fans can look at with a clean slate without suddenly muttering the word 'bandwagoner' directly to your face?

Everybody's thoughts will be greatly appreciated, and don't be afraid of your opinion. [IMG]

Being at Key Arena durring a year when Seattle was kicking ass, being the lone Laker fan in a crowd of hostile Sonics fans. Watching a Laker team you knew had no chance but still feeling pride and excitement to watch your team, the greatest team ever, on the court.

A true Laker fan is there durring an 8th place season and a first round exit. A true Laker fan will be there after the Kobes and the Shaqs. A true Lakers fan loves the team for the team and the history, not for the individuals that make up the team.

A true Laker fan doesn't give a damn what anyone else thinks.

A true Laker fan went to school the day after they lost to the Pistons wearing all their Laker gear and colors. They stay positive and stick with the team no matter how good or bad they're doing and always say "We'll get them next year" if they lose and believe every word of it.

A true laker fan cries and whines and are happy when they are doing well, but abandons their team when they are losing. A true laker fan (not many) likes when the referees cheat for their team to help them win. A true laker fan is proud and feels invincible and they need to be humbled. A true laker fan doesn't go to the bathroom leaving the game, but instead does it right there in the stands.

Sorry bout this people, I sat for awhile wondering if I should submit this..I decided too because I hated the Shaq-Kobe era, but I don't hate the lakers frachise. So...I guess this is pointless, I hate the Shaq and Kobe Lakers..well..at least that's over with..

There has to be a particular reason to why you hate the Shaq/Kobe era, but you call yourself a Laker fan. How come?

ANd last of all, a true quilty fan is Being a LakeShow fan for life.

Hey Emo, who's quote is that? [IMG]

Haha...anyways...a diehard Laker fan gets a TV put in his ICU room just to watch the Lakers win Game 5 against the Sixers, and take home the championship, while he's being hooked up to saline and having the nurses treat him for an extremely high blood sugar (yes, this was me). I actually got blood on my Kobe jersey I was wearing at the time...but I wouldn't take it off, even though they had to patch my chest for monitoring me, so I told them to go under the jersey [IMG] I felt great after the game was over, when I really wasn't supposed to be feeling good at all.

I've been with the team before and after the glory years. I've watch them get slammed by the Bulls in '91 and cheered them on till the very end. I was a huge fan of Magic, Scott, Worthy, Kareem, an AC GREEn. A big fan of Van Exel, Jones, Divac, Ceballos, and AC. A huge fan of Shaq, Kobe, Fox, Fisher, and Horry. And a big fan of Kobe, Odom, Butler, Divac, and whoever our point guard will be! LOL... I stand proud even thru all the changes made, and I've been there for both our tough losses, and huge victories.

I stay at the stadium even after the Lakers are blown out. I hate fans who walk out on their team when they are losing by 30 in the 4th. You stay and cheer to the very end. I dont walk out in the 4th quarter like I see so many do. I've been watching Laker games as long as I can remember. True to the Purple and Gold regardless of whose on our team.... LAKERs 2005!!!!!!

Im the only Laker fan in my city. Everyone here hates the lakers and i still show up in a Kobe Jersey to the court and play. Still held my head up high when they lost against the Pistons.

Still defended the Lakers when everybody was laughing. Watch every game even though sometimes i watch the games 3 am in the night and have to get up at 7 in the morning to go to school.

Yeah, I had to take a page out of your post on that one. It gave me an excellent idea on the making of the thread. Big up's.

well, a true laker fan stand hi/her ground when others are poking fun at the team and its dificaulty, for example my friend and i are the only people in my school who like the lakers and we get made fun of the fact that kobe is rapest and everything but we still stand our ground and argue about every stat comparison and any false fact that trown towards us.

A true Laker fan will always be a Laker fan and cannot be swayed to think otherwise. You can like other teams too, but it should always be Lakers first.

You can't like other teams when you're a Laker fan first and foremost. It doesn't work that way. Unless you wanna be labeled as a bandwagoner.

I disagree. The Lakers are definitely my favorite team, but I do love watching the Clippers as well. I support both L.A. teams, unless they're playing against eachother(ofcourse in those games I root for the Lakers).. I've supported the Clippers just as long as the Lakers. But liking the "other" Los Angeles doesn't take anything away from being a huge Laker fan.

I guess watching and supporting both LA teams wouldn't hurt at all, but perhaps if you liked watching the Kings too, then it'll definitely be a problem.

A true Lakers fan STILL hates the bulls (and Jordan) for what they did to the Lakers. [IMG]

A true Laker fan go to the Delta Center (People HATE the Lakers in Utah) all in Lakers gear and cheers them on even when they call some horrible T's on Shaq and just a very horribly called game and even though they are losing but dosen't leave the stadium just so you don't have to hear thousands of people ragging on you cause the Lakers lost.

Also a true Lakers fan has someone tape the games that were on Fox Sports Net West, while he was in the hospital for 5 months (yes that was me [IMG] ) And still watches the games even if you know the outcome (the hospital didn't get FSN)

Also a true Laker fan decides to get the NBA Season pass on DirectTV for his main Christmas present, when he moves to Utah and no longer gets the games.

    Just my two cents...
