I liked the movie overall. Gritty beginning, realistic car chase, liked the aston martin on the dirt road. My main problems were lack of chemistry between bond and the bond girls and the story was rushed with random quips that on first watch didn't really make sense (like why did he just dump Matthias in the dumpster?).

I thought it would be more revenge and badassness with him murdering people, but most of them seemed accidental or in a situation where he had to kill.

I had the same feeling when I left the theater, but the movie grew on me after a week. The film has a lot of problems, but I am really happy with the direction they chose for Bond. Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are pretty good IMO.

I like how they are progressing the storyline as Quantum being like Spectre/SMERSH (from the novels). Here, they don't even reveal that much....that meeting in the orchestra was pretty fucking cool. I think they could have extended the movie a bit more and explained more in depth some of the little nuances. A lot of scenes seemed to be cut out of the final reel.

I read an IGN review that was pretty fair to the movie: QOS couldn't have the same character development that CR had, has this sequel started only an hour after its predecessor and it wouldn't make sense for Bond to fall in love all over again.

I used to really enjoy the James Bond series when I was a kid, but could never get into them with Pierce Brosnan and that other dude. They were so outlandishly un realistic. Are the new Bond movies at least a little more realistic? More story, less sex? I was thinking about renting Casino Royale. Would I like it?

Casino Royale is awesome. great plot, realistic Bond...the Brosnan ones were a joke with Invisible cars, corny jokes...CR is probaby the top or top 3 bond flicks of all time.

That orchestra scene was amazing. I mean he was so badass there when he decided to cut in on their meeting...major spoiler kinda btw.

Classic bond girl death by Strawberry Fields.

This Bond still has the charm though, he has his moments in this movie and none of which are overdone.

I liked QOS and it was enjoyable. But just not the Suave, Cool and Witty Bond I'm used to.
