with this whole batum drama going on, and when/if he signs that offer sheet our money will be tied up. why are we not hustling to try to pull off an uneven trade before batum signs the offer? am i missing something? am i just stupid? fill me in
I would imagine that The Boss is working on it as we speak. He's already pulled a few moves by signing Hickson, Claver, and Freeland, but lopsided trades are harder to pull off. Have to convince a team that it's worth it to shed salary from their payroll.
my next question would be....are we able to make an uneven trade using our cap space during the 3 day waiting period after the offer sheet is turned in? or does that tie our money up?
I'd imagine he's working on this right now. Every moment Minne takes, just gives us more time, so that's to our benefit. However, I wouldn't get your hopes up that a lopsided trade will actually happen.
I am pretty sure Portland's money is not tied up when Batum is offered (new CBA). So Portland has from now until they match the offer sheet to make a lopsided deal
It's not. That's how we were going to be able to sign Hibbert, even if Hibbert and Batum signed their offers at the same time.
