Okay, I need a clarification about how waivers work...

    Let's use the following example:

Just for argument's sake, let's say Mike Alstott is a free agent and he goes off on Sunday, so everyone wants to pick him up.

My team lost Sunday and is listed number one in the waiver order on the website.

A winning team who is after me in the waiver order puts in a claim for Alstott on Monday morning, first thing.

I e-mail my request for Alstott on Wednesday afternoon.

    Who gets him?

You do. Only if you waited until after Wed 8 p.m. would the other team get Alstott.

Even IR has a waiver order unless you're picking up that player's direct back up.

Right, so the guy who lost Steve Smith, for example, would get a free shot at Ricky Proehl or that rookie who's going to start without waiting in the waivers line...

Great decision. It's a good policy to have.
